Opportunity Overview
Teradyne Defense & Aerospace Total Solutions (TPS) is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead cross-functional engineering development programs and support the successful delivery of automated test solutions. This role will partner with engineering, operations, supply chain, and customers to manage project scope, schedule, cost, and technical execution while ensuring alignment with program objectives and customer expectations.
In this role, you will:
- Lead cross-functional teams consisting of Hardware, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Test, and Systems Engineering resources.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate integrated project schedules and key program milestones.
- Monitor project cost, schedule, scope, and technical performance to ensure successful execution.
- Identify project risks and issues and drive mitigation and resolution plans with stakeholders.
- Facilitate program reviews and project meetings while providing regular status updates to leadership and customers.
- Manage scope changes and communicate schedule, cost, and technical impacts to stakeholders.
- Coordinate activities with suppliers and internal organizations to support project execution.
- Support proposal development, project planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company processes, contractual requirements, and customer expectations.
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to support successful product development and program delivery.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of technical project management experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 2+ years with a Master’s degree.
- Experience managing engineering development projects in a technical environment.
- Experience developing and maintaining project schedules using Microsoft Project or similar planning tools.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify project risks and drive issue resolution across cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, preferably Siemens Teamcenter.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and engineering change management processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting defense, aerospace, military, or automated test equipment programs.
- Working knowledge of configuration management and product development processes.
- Experience working within an ITAR-controlled environment.
- Master of Science, Master of Engineering, or MBA.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence across technical and business functions.
We are only considering candidates local to North Reading, MA and are unable to provide relocation for this position.

Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed to support customer meetings, suppliers, and program execution activities.
- Expected travel up to 10%.
- Candidates for this ITAR-restricted position must comply with applicable export control requirements. Access to export-controlled technology may be subject to U.S. Government authorization and licensing requirements.
Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $111,600 - $178,600. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
