Position Overview
The Senior IT Make Engineer, with an OT/IT/MES focus, will lead the integration, support, and continuous improvement of technologies connecting corporate Information Technology (IT) with Operational Technology (OT) systems, including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). This role promotes reliable operations, industrial cybersecurity, and secure, scalable solutions critical for critical manufacturing environments.
Essential Job Functions
OT/IT Integration
- Design, implement, and maintain integrated IT/OT architectures.
- Ensure secure connectivity between industrial systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA, MES, Historians) and corporate IT platforms.
- Define and manage network zones and conduits in alignment with ISA/IEC‑62443.
Industrial Cybersecurity
- Apply OT cybersecurity practices, including system hardening, access control, patching, and vulnerability management.
- Manage industrial firewalls, DMZs, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and application whitelisting for plant systems.
- Support security incident responses for OT infrastructure.
Support and Operations
- Serve as the primary shop-floor contact for IT/OT/MES issues and provide advance L3 support.
- Manager supports tickets and communication status, risks, and priorities to management.
- Document incidents, changes, configurations, technical diagrams, standard work, procedures, and process flows.
- Train end users and support user assessments as needed. Coordinate activities with engineering, production, maintenance, and vendors.
- Monitor shop-floor data quality and report key performance indicators.
- Partner with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Continuous Improvement teams and vendors to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
Projects and Continuous Improvement
- Lead plant technology modernization and lean initiatives, including deliverables, timelines, and resources with IT/OT initiatives.
- Evaluate technologies, conduct proof‑of‑concept tests, and present technical recommendations.
- Create and manage change requests for the Santa Clara, Minnesota and Costa Rica sites.
- Test and release configuration changes, system updates, and new functionality.
- Support new product development and productivity projects through implementation planning and structured problem solving.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and MES advancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer, or Software Engineering, Electronics, Automation or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing IT environment, including 2 years supporting IT/OT/MES applications.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, switching, VLANs, VMware, Hyper‑VExperience with industrial platforms such as PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS, Historian, and MES.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Desired previous experience working in a SCRUM or Agile environment is desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across functions.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methods and FDA-regulated environments is preferred.

Additional Information
- The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

$91,000.00 - $147,200.00
