## What You Can Expect

Formal on the job training (OJT) for Tool Maker. Training for all activities required to fabricate, reproduce, or modify tooling, fixtures, gauges, existing parts or products as assigned by the supervisor. The trainee will work closely with experienced toolmakers and engineers to develop the skills necessary for a successful career in tool and die making while either completing Tool & Die Certificate program or equivalent machinist technology program, or complete five (5) years of job experience dedicated to Zimmer Biomet toolroom activities.

## How You'll Create Impact

- Train with experienced tool maker(s) to fabricate new fixtures, molds and dies
- Assist in the setup and operation of sophisticated multi-axis, welding, grinding, and conventional metal and plastic working equipment
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Support the design and fabrication of new fixtures, molds and dies or reproduce, modify existing fixtures, molds, and dies
- Participate in the repair, sharpening, and maintenance of tools and dies
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Complete assigned training modules and hands-on projects
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve production processes

## What Makes You Stand Out

- Ability to measure products using micrometers and calipers and have the ability to learn all measuring equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in precision machining Ability to read basic technical drawings (or willingness to learn) Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced toolmakers Basic math skills and familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

## Your Background

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience operating mills and lathes, required with 4 years’ experience preferred
- Previous technical schooling or vocational training in machining and/or tool and die curriculum a plus

## Travel Expectations

- Less than 10%
