About this role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to join our HR team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a student or aspiring HR professional to gain hands-on experience in employee onboarding, recruitment support, HR administration, compliance, payroll support, and employee relations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The HR Intern will work closely with the HR Director and site leadership team to support day-to-day HR operations while developing practical knowledge of Human Resources processes and best practices. This is a part-time internship (24 hours per week). Hourly rate is $20.00.
Responsibilities
HR Administration & Compliance
- Maintain employee personnel files, records, and updates within HR databases and systems.
- Complete and maintain I-9 documentation and files.
- Conduct periodic I-9 audits to ensure compliance with company policies and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate HR records while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
Recruiting & Staffing Support
- Maintain recruitment and headcount tracking spreadsheets.
- Assist with job postings and candidate tracking activities.
- Partner with temporary staffing agencies to support recruiting and onboarding of temporary employees.
Onboarding & Employee Support
- Conduct and support new hire orientation sessions.
- Coordinate all onboarding activities, including: First-day orientation
- Payroll setup
- Timekeeping system training
- Benefits portal training
- Department-specific onboarding activities
- Assist employees with questions regarding company policies, benefits, and HR processes.
- Maintain employee communication boards and HR-related postings throughout the facility.
Payroll & Reporting Support
- Assist with timekeeping administration and timecard updates as needed.
- Support payroll-related administrative activities.
- Generate and compile HR reports and assist with ad hoc reporting requests.
Projects
- Provide support on HR initiatives and special projects as assigned by the HR Director – Operations US.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts within the Human Resources function.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous administrative, customer service, or internship experience.
