About the Role

The Senior Specialist is an integral part of Latham’s Events team. This role will be responsible for assisting the Manager – Client Events in delivering a successful events program, while leading the organization of events, including working independently on projects and partnering with the Manager – Client Events to plan, project manage, and attend events. This role will be located in our Austin office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

- Pro-actively coordinating various aspects of the event lifecycle, including planning meetings, checklists, budgets, expense processing, vendor management, onsite and virtual platform management, data management, post-event analysis

- Curating targeted invitations lists for each event, working closely with stakeholders and e-marketing team

- Drafting event communications and collateral that align with Latham branding

- Developing and controlling budgets for each event; identifying, negotiating, and achieving cost savings with venues and vendors

- Continuously staying abreast of event best practices as well as market and industry trends

- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

We’d love to hear from you if you:

- Exhibit good communication skills, both written and verbal

- Possess well‑developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with clients and staff at all organizational levels of the firm

- Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with a customer‑service focus

And have:

- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent

- An events qualification, preferably

- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a business development or marketing role

- Experience in a professional services environment, preferably
