About this role
Job Description
Manufacturing Associate - LC Column Manufacturing & Process Development
We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Associate to support Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) activities focused on liquid chromatography (LC) column manufacturing. This role will contribute to technical investigations, process optimization, and method development initiatives aimed at improving product quality, manufacturing robustness, and operational efficiency.
Working closely with scientists, engineers, manufacturing personnel, and cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will apply scientific principles, statistical analysis, and structured problem-solving approaches to understand process performance, resolve manufacturing challenges, and drive continuous improvement in LC column manufacturing operations .
Key Responsibilities:
- Support technical investigations associated with manufacturing performance, product quality, process deviations, yield losses, and customer-related issues.
- Execute experimental studies to optimize LC column loading processes, including slurry preparation, packing conditions, process parameters, and equipment settings.
- Apply a scientific and data-driven approach to investigations, using experimental evidence and statistical analysis to identify root causes and evaluate potential solutions.
- Support the development, qualification, and continuous improvement of manufacturing methods, procedures, and control strategies.
- Design and execute experiments using structured approaches such as Design of Experiments (DOE) to evaluate process variables and their impact on column performance and quality attributes.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret laboratory and manufacturing data to identify trends, sources of variability, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Utilize statistical tools and software to perform data analysis, process capability assessments, regression analysis, and process performance evaluations.
- Develop data visualizations, control charts, and technical summaries that support informed decision-making and process optimization.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, QSAT, R&D, and MSAT teams to define hypotheses, design studies, interpret results, and implement evidence-based improvements.
- Support root cause investigations and apply structured problem-solving methodologies including DMAIC, 5-Whys, Fishbone Analysis, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Contribute to process characterization and process understanding activities by correlating manufacturing parameters with column performance outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve process capability, product consistency, manufacturing throughput, and yield.
- Support technology transfer, scale-up, and process validation activities as required.
- Prepare technical reports, protocols, work instructions, and investigation summaries to support manufacturing and development activities.
- Maintain laboratory and manufacturing equipment in compliance with safety and quality requirements.
- Follow established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality systems, and site procedures.
##
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
- Post-graduate, certification, and/or license may be required.
