Position Summary
Were looking for a reliable and organized Coordinator to help keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. In this role, youll support planning, communication, and execution across teams or projects. This position will work directly with Public Health, Behavioral Health, and Direct Services Departments under CINHA to support multiple initiatives including disease management, event management and clerical tasks.
Youll be the person who keeps things on track, follows up on details, and makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.
This position supports the CIN mission by promoting Catawba culture, education, and self-sufficiency while providing economic and health opportunities. This position is responsible and subject to the CIN Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual.
Essential Functions
An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Development and/or distribute promotional materials, such as monthly newsletters, handouts, letters, flyers, social media, etc.
- Prepare purchase requisitions, invoices, and inventory
- Coordinate schedules, meetings, and project timelines
- Communicate with internal teams, clients, or vendors as needed
- Track progress on tasks and follow up to ensure deadlines are met
- Maintain records, files, and documentation
- Assist with planning events, projects, and programs
- Support team members with administrative and operational tasks
- Help maintain all related equipment, tools, and supplies for program management including but not limited to gardening, gym memberships and equipment, BH crafts and supplies.
- Assist with volunteer groups as needed
- Collect intake and enrollment forms for Coordinators and Managers
- Help during community outreach sessions
- Maintenance, implementation, and oversight of the community garden
- Help build raised beds and traditional, herb and medicine wheel gardens within the Catawba Nation
- Assist with educational classes.
- Provide planning support, planting, garden maintenance, harvesting, cleaning, animal husbandry, and other agricultural support to tribal program gardens, and community/individual gardens.

Qualifications
Experience/Knowledge:
- Previous experience in a coordinator, administrative, or support role is a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with MS Office applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Publisher
- Attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
- Some knowledge in gardening and agricultural practices preferred
- First Aid and CPR certified preferred
- Willingness to attend certifications and training courses associated with job responsibilities
- Ability to work evenings or weekends as required
- Access to reliable transportation
- Ability to maintain effective, confidential, professional, and courteous working relationships and demeanor with other employees and the public always
- Combination of background and knowledge in any or all the areas of wellness practices, health, exercise science and nutrition
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED. Associates degree preferred, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possess a clean, valid state Driver’s License
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Fast-paced environment with frequent patient interactions.
- Outdoor work in weather elements, heat, and cold
- Use of electronic health records (EHR) systems and computers for documentation.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and requires walking, standing, bending etc.
- Duties include physically strenuous labor such a: shoveling, raking, planting, hauling, turning compost
and other related activities
- Duties also include office work such as working on a computer for an extended amount of time, for
normal work, meetings, filing and other related computer duties
- Will be required to work alone and in groups, both indoors and outdoors to ensure optimal efficiency
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; bend to open/use lower drawers or cabinetry; to talk, hear, and see. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to ten pounds. Must have swimming capabilities.
