At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Intern - Security Analyst
St. Louis, MO
Rate of Pay: $18 an hour

Position Summary
The Security Analyst Intern will provide assistance to the Information Security Department with recurring cybersecurity responsibilities and special projects that support the Bank's information security program.
Primary Accountabilities
- Assist with updating and enhancing Security Awareness Training materials and initiatives.
- Support information security activities across areas such as vulnerability management, third-party risk, governance, policy development, and emerging technologies.
- Assist with threat intelligence activities, including opportunities to automate threat intelligence feeds as time permits.
- Collaborate with Information Security team members and business partners across IT, Risk Management, Compliance, and other business units.
- Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to information security projects while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- The internship will run for Summer of 2027 beginning mid-May and ending early August.
- Able to work a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- Must reside local to the St. Louis, MO area and report to the St. Louis office.
- Enrolled in a degree program at a college or university with at least 2 years completed.
- Works well in team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Teams.
- Demonstrates ability to learn and use new software and programs.
- Strong interest in cybersecurity and information security.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Coursework in network security, operating systems, networking, cloud computing, risk management, or programming/scripting is preferred.
