Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation (the “Company”), a subsidiary of Marcus & Millichap, Inc. (NYSE:MMI) is seeking a Director, Capital Markets, to join a top producing commercial real estate debt and equity origination team. The candidate will be responsible for critical tasks including financial modeling, creation of offering memorandum, working closely with capital sources to place debt and equity transactions, and reviewing legal documents. The candidate will ensure all transactions are processed timely and effectively from engagement through closing. As an experienced and senior member of the Company’s transactional team, this position is designated as an exempt role.
The base salary range for this role is $135,000 - $150,000 per year. This position is eligible for a discretionary performance-based bonus. The exact bonus is not guaranteed and will vary based on individual performance, team results, and company performance. Actual pay will be determined by factors such as education, experience, and job-related skills relevant to the role. Marcus & Millichap is a multi-state employer and posted salary ranges are provided in good faith for compliance with all relevant pay-transparency regulations. These ranges may not reflect potential compensation for positions based in other states or regions.
## Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and assess credit and other risks on complex commercial real estate financings.
- Manage the preparation of engagement agreements.
- Perform due diligence on prospective and existing clients using various data sources.
- Develop pro-forma financials and cash flow models.
- Research and evaluate economic, demographic, and real estate market data.
- Review and negotiate legal and other closing documents.
- Build relationships with clients, prospective buyers, and investors.
- Provide assistance to sales agents to generate sales and staple financing business.
- Responsible for the timely execution of special projects.
Key Attributes and Experience:
- 6 to 8 years commercial real estate experience in advisory, banking, or valuation.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or commercial real estate required. Advance degree preferred.
- Relevant experience as a business builder and leader with a proven track record of success.
- Strong modeling skills with expert competency with Excel and Argus.
- Ability to recruit, motivate, develop, and retain staff.
- Experience in the placement of debt and equity with CMBS, bank, debt fund and other capital sources.
- Preferred experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and HUD loan products and underwriting.
- High attention to detail in analytical assessments and valuations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and productively during time sensitive situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Independent worker with a team player attitude.
- Flexible attitude with the ability to handle change effectively.
- Availability for North American travel.
