Build a skilled trade career with Comfort Systems USA Shoffner. We are hiring Sheet Metal Fabricators to build commercial HVAC ductwork and fittings in our Knoxville shop. We welcome experienced fabricators as well as entry-level candidates with machine operating, manufacturing, production, welding, or other hands-on industrial experience. Training is available for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn. Current office on Papermill Drive. Moving to Fleenor Mill Road, Heiskell, TN.

What You’ll Do

- Fabricate and assemble rectangular and round commercial HVAC ductwork
- Build fittings such as elbows, transitions, offsets, plenums, and other custom components
- Read and follow fabrication tickets, labels, shop drawings, and basic blueprints
- Measure, mark, cut, bend, form, connect, and reinforce sheet metal materials
- Operate brakes, shears, Pittsburgh machines, seamers, bead rollers, spot welders, and plasma cutting equipment
- Use hand and power tools including snips, drills, impact drivers, rivet guns, and hand seamers
- Check completed work for correct measurements, secure connections, and overall quality
- Move materials safely and work with the team to meet shop production schedules
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area

What We’re Looking For

- Sheet metal fabrication experience is preferred but not required

- Machine operating, manufacturing, production, welding, or similar hands-on experience is welcomed

- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math

- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn fabrication equipment and processes

- Attention to detail, dependable attendance, and a quality-focused approach

- Ability to work safely, stay productive, and contribute as part of a team
