Job Description:
At Regions, the Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) Project Manager at this level is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of large, complex, and high-profile technology and business initiatives across the organization. This role manages project scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and dependencies while ensuring adherence to enterprise technology standards, governance practices, cyber security requirements, and other applicable policies. This role collaborates with business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and stakeholders on a routine basis. Additionally, this role provides guidance and mentorship to project team members and less experienced project managers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Leads large, complex, high-profile technology projects from initiation through implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develops and manages comprehensive project plans, resource forecasts, schedules, budgets, dependencies, and implementation strategies for highly visible initiatives
- Coordinates and leads cross-functional project teams consisting of business, technology, operations, and vendor partners to achieve project objectives
- Manages multiple workstreams within assigned projects while ensuring alignment of deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder expectations
- Proactively identifies, assesses, and manages complex project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, driving resolution and escalation activities as needed
- Ensures compliance with enterprise technology standards, cyber security requirements, risk management practices, governance frameworks, and regulatory obligations throughout the project lifecycle
- Leads project governance activities, including project reviews, stage-gate approvals, executive status reporting, and audit-related documentation
- Serves as the primary point of contact for project sponsors, business leaders, and technology stakeholders, providing clear communication regarding project status, risks, key decisions, and milestones
- Partners with architecture, information security, infrastructure, development, and risk teams to address technical, operational, and compliance requirements
- Oversees testing, implementation, change management, training, and transition-to-support activities to ensure successful project adoption and operational readiness
- Provides leadership and direction to project teams, facilitating collaboration, accountability, and effective decision-making throughout project execution
- Resolves complex delivery challenges involving competing priorities, resource constraints, stakeholder concerns, and project interdependencies
- Identifies opportunities to improve project delivery processes, governance practices, reporting capabilities, and project management methodologies
- Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced project managers and project team members, sharing best practices and project management expertise
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field and six (6) years of project management experience
- Or High School Diploma or GED and ten (10) years of project management experience
- Experience developing project plans, schedules, budgets, status reports, and executive summaries
- Experience managing technology-related initiatives involving multiple stakeholder groups and cross-functional teams
- Experience supporting audit, compliance, and regulatory initiatives
Preferences
- Applicable certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), etc.)
- Experience in banking and/or financial services
- Experience managing infrastructure, application development, cyber security, and/or enterprise technology initiatives
- Experience working within regulatory and/or governance-driven environments

- Ability to interpret and apply organizational policies, procedures, and technology requirements
- Broad understanding of enterprise technology environments, infrastructure, applications, data management, and cyber security practices

- Familiarity with project portfolio management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills
- Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of technology governance frameworks, risk management practices, and cyber security standards
- Working knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile, Waterfall, Kanban, and Hybrid delivery methodologies

Compensation Details
Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
