The Opportunity
This is a 4-8 month onsite co-op position based in Ottawa , starting in January 2027 . You will gain hands-on experience developing embedded software for advanced optical networking products while working in a collaborative engineering environment.
- Pay Range: $24-35/hr

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and debug embedded software in C/C++ on Linux-based systems
- Participate in requirements analysis and software design review
- Develop, document, and execute unit- and system-level test cases
- Troubleshoot low-level software issues, including hardware–software interactions
- Participate in code reviews and follow established software development processes
What We’re Looking For
Education:
- Currently enrolled in a Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering co-op program at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience programming in C and/or C++
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with good communication skills
- Experience with embedded Linux software development
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
- Exposure to networking concepts or low-level system software
