Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to plan and design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. You will direct and coordinate activities involved in the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of these products and systems. Utilizing your engineering expertise, you will design products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, and more. This role involves analyzing various factors to solve moderate scope problems and requires a mix of routine and project-based work.
Responsibilities
- Research and analyze data such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine the feasibility of design or application.
- Design products or systems including instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems.
- Plan and direct other engineers in the fabrication of equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems.
- Direct and coordinate fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
- Coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
- Design products and systems to interface machines, hardware, and software.
- Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- Maintain availability for work, including evenings and weekends when necessary to meet goals and deadlines.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of SolidWorks Mechanical Design experience.
- Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Ability to obtain Top Secret Security Clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in electromechanical product design.
- 7+ years of experience in the field.
- Experience leading Mechanical Engineering projects from design to fabrication.
Work Environment
The role primarily involves internal contacts, with some external interactions. You will work on problems of moderate scope, receiving general instructions for routine work and detailed instructions for new projects. The position may require adherence to safety and security procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Maryville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $130000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. 401k, Holiday Pay, Full benefits, 2 weeks PTO
