Role Overview

As the HVAC Truck Base Service Manager, you will lead service customer account execution, support Labor and Material growth, and help drive the profitability and productivity of the team. You will manage customer relationships, support employee development and retention, and ensure safety program compliance across day-to-day service operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead service customer account performance, including planned Services Agreements and Labor & Materials (L&M) work.
- Set, monitor, and drive gross margin, profitability, and productivity goals for the team’s customer base.
- Support L&M growth through Technicians and Team Leads.
- Lead execution of assigned service business, including warranty-related customer issues and issue resolution.
- Review and approve L&M quotations.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, overhead, and accounts payable/receivable activities.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels through hiring, training, onboarding, and performance management.
- Coach, develop, and retain Technicians, Customer Service Agents, and other team members involved in service delivery.
- Oversee fleet and tools inventory to support reliable field operations.
- Ensure consistency of delivery systems through supervision, audits, and follow-up on service execution.
- Maintain accountability for safety performance and program compliance.

- You will own service outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity by setting clear expectations, tracking results, and following through on commitments to customers and the team.
- You will stay close to the work and focus on what matters most by understanding field activity, removing obstacles, and supporting fast resolution of customer and operational issues.
- You will improve every day through practical problem-solving and candor by reviewing performance, identifying gaps, and taking action to strengthen service delivery, margin, and productivity.
- You will win as one team by building trust across Technicians, Customer Service Agents, Team Leads, and other partners who contribute to the customer experience.
- You will balance customer satisfaction with financial discipline, using data and communication to make sound decisions.
- You will create a consistent operating rhythm through planning, coaching, audits, and follow-up.

Qualifications

- Technical school training or equivalent experience in HVAC or the building controls industry.
- Three or more years of management experience in a similar service delivery environment.
- Strong ability to prioritize work activities, support scheduling, and lead a diverse team.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and negotiating skills.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic financial accounting experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office products and the basic Windows environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and issues with tact, cooperation, and persistence.

Nice to Have

- Diploma in Electronic or Mechanical Systems.
- Two years of prior experience in the HVAC or building controls industry.
- Five or more years in a service management role directing a similar service delivery team.
- Experience working with Labor & Materials (L&M), Planned Services Agreements, budgeting, forecasting, and accounts payable/receivable workflows.
