As a Service Technician Lead, youll play a critical role in supporting our service department in all aspects of the installation, service, and repair of Culligan commercial and residential water treatment equipment and products. This position is also responsible for assisting with the training of our service technicians and serves as a go-to technical resource for the team. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality Culligan service. The ideal candidate for this role will have strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose our systems following training and will be comfortable consulting with customers to effectively understand their needs.

What youll do:

Installation and Service:

- Install, service, and repair water treatment equipment at both commercial and residential customer locations, including re-beds, product deliveries, and applications.

- Test and troubleshoot equipment to ensure proper functionality.

- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.

- Assist Sales Representatives with residential and commercial installations and equipment changes.

- Perform Route Delivery duties when needed.

Team Leadership:

- Support the Service Manager by training service technicians.

- Offer technical support and guidance to service personnel.

- Communicate with the Service Manager on any issues that arise with installations and service calls.

Customer Service:

- Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner.

- Communicate effectively to explain installation processes and answer questions.

- Complete the sale of equipment and other supplies where appropriate.

- Collect customer payments at the time service is rendered.

Technical Support:

- Provide technical support to customers during and after installations.

- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.

- Provide telephone technical support when necessary.

Training and Education:

- Train customers on the proper use and maintenance of installed products and systems.

- Provide basic technical guidance to customers.

- Aid and/or provide training to coworkers and other departments.

Documentation:

- Maintain accurate records of installations and troubleshooting steps, including pictures.

- Accurately and legibly complete all required paperwork, including timesheets, material orders, warranty cards, installation/service work orders, and field orders.

- Promptly return customer payments and daily activity sheets to the office at the end of each workday.

Safety:

- Operate service vehicles safely; adhere to safe driver policies and complete required vehicle inspections and maintenance.

- Load, unload, and secure service vehicles as required.

Where youll work:

Culligan Service Technicians spend much of their time traveling to their customers location and completing on-site installation – this means you should feel comfortable working in various environments including indoor and outdoor spaces, a variety of in-home conditions, as well as situations involving pets. While youll be traveling during working hours, youll be back at the dealership by the end of your day. You may be required to work in tight spaces such as crawl spaces. This role is physically demanding and requires the Technician to stand, kneel, bend, crawl, and lift a minimum of 75 lbs on a repetitive basis, and at times over 100 lbs.

Technically speaking, the ideal candidate for this role will be highly customer oriented, comfortable managing their time and solving problems, and committed to following SOPs. Proficiency in using hand tools and basic power tools is of the utmost importance in this position.

Your qualifications:

- Must maintain a valid Drivers License with no restrictions or limitations.

- Must be at least 18 years of age or older, and must be able to successfully pass, and maintain, an acceptable driving record check to be insurable by the company to operate a company vehicle.

- Must be able to safely operate a commercial vehicle daily for approximately 8-10 hours.

- Must be able to successfully pass criminal background check and drug screening checks, as well as any ongoing screenings per company requirements.

- Must remain physically capable, with or without reasonable accommodation, of performing the duties required of this position.
