The Dining Room Supervisor plays an important role in creating an exceptional dining experience for our residents and guests across Westminster-Canterburys dining venues. Under the guidance of the Dining Leadership Team, this position leads and supports dining service teams through teamwork, empowerment, and strong day-to-day leadership. The Dining Room Supervisor ensures dining operations meet established standards while maintaining a high level of service, hospitality, and resident satisfaction. This role oversees staffing, scheduling, training, performance, and team development while promoting a positive and professional work environment. The Dining Room Supervisor is highly visible during meal periods, builds strong relationships with residents and team members, and responds to feedback and special requests with a service-focused approach. This position also helps ensure dining areas are well presented, organized, and prepared for daily service, special events, and holidays. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, enjoys working with people, and consistently models Westminster-Canterburys values of respect, passion, and professionalism.
What You'll Do In This Role
- Embraces CCL Hospitality Service training and Westminster-Canterburys community philosophy as the foundation for managing dining venues and service teams.
- Supervises Dining Room Team members and oversees daily service operations, ensuring established standards are consistently met.
- Manages staffing, scheduling, hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Supports the professional growth and development of team members through coaching, feedback, and ongoing training.
- Leads Show Time pre-meal huddles and remains visible throughout meal periods to support the team and address resident and guest feedback regarding service and food quality.
- Builds strong relationships with residents, guests, team members, and Administration while responding to resident needs and special requests.
- Ensures proper health, sanitation, cash-handling, and operational procedures are followed throughout the dining areas.
- Identifies opportunities to enhance the dining experience and implements programs that promote resident satisfaction.
- Coordinates dining room dcor, tabletop needs, menus, and special events in collaboration with the Restaurant Manager.
- Supports dining marketing initiatives and special event planning.
- Oversees the preparation and printing of daily, weekly, and monthly menus, as well as menu identifiers for residents and guests.
- Ensures proper operation and maintenance of POS systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand and walk throughout the shift and regularly bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, reach, climb, and balance.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to use hands and arms and have the ability to taste and smell.
- May be exposed to commercial cleaning products.
The Experience You'll Bring
Required
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of leadership experience
- Two years of hospitality industry experience
- Possess a comprehensive knowledge of dining room service techniques, resident relations, plate presentation, sanitation, food handling, personnel administration and special functions.
- ServSafe & CPR certified, or will become certified in the first year of employment.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures and practices.
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance.
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules, events, and service demands.
- Subject to on-call hours in the event of emergency, weather, etc.
- Works beyond normal working hours, nights, weekends and holidays
Preferred
- Four years of leadership experience
- Four years of hospitality industry experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation Range : $22.33 - $26.75 per hour (based on relevant experience)
