THE ROLE:

AMD’s Cores Organization develops high-performance CPUs and cache technologies that are foundational to AMD’s server, client, and gaming business. We are looking for a Core Verification Engineer to join this innovative team as a technical contributor. The candidate will develop their expertise while helping the team deliver advanced designs in a collaborative and dynamic environment. The candidate will join the team based in Fort Collins, CO.

The candidate should have strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. We work on programs with long timelines, so the ability to manage priorities, take ownership of assigned work, and collaborate with the team to meet project commitments is important. We value thoughtful questioning, continuous improvement, creativity, and innovation. The candidate should also have the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively. We work in small teams as part of a larger cross-site Cores organization, so collaboration, knowledge sharing, and teamwork are important to our success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop processes, methodologies, and tools used to verify high-speed microprocessor designs, including development of randomized test stimulus and infrastructure
- Lead and/or contribute to the development of verification stimulus for specific architectural and microarchitectural features
- Develop high-quality, maintainable code and collaborate with the RTL design team to define and optimize verification strategies for CPU cores
- Measure and analyze verification coverage, identify gaps and weaknesses, and implement improvements to meet design and project quality objectives

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

- Experience with one or more relevant programming languages, such as Ruby, C/C++, x86 assembly, or similar languages
- Understanding of modern computer architecture; knowledge of x86 architecture is beneficial
- Knowledge of verification techniques for microprocessors, ASIC designs, or similar digital designs

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

- BS/MS in CS, CSE, EE, a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience
