What is the Opportunity?
CanAtom, a joint venture between AtkinsRéalis and Aecon, is delivering the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station Refurbishment Project under a collaborative contract with Ontario Power Generation. The joint venture is underway to complete the retube, feeder, and boiler replacement (RFBR) of Units 5–8. Building on the successful delivery of the Darlington Refurbishment Project, the CanAtom team brings proven experience in safely executing complex nuclear projects on time and on budget to support Ontario’s clean energy future.
The Reporting Lead is responsible for leading the development, coordination, analysis, and delivery of integrated project reporting for a complex nuclear refurbishment program. The role provides accurate, timely, and decision-ready information to project leadership, senior management, the client, project partners, and other stakeholders. The Reporting Lead will establish and maintain robust reporting processes that integrate schedule, cost, risk, scope, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, quality, safety, and performance information.

What You’ll Do Here
Integrated Project Reporting
- Lead the preparation and consolidation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc project performance reports.
- Establish and maintain an integrated reporting framework aligned with project governance and client requirements.
- Consolidate information from project controls, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, quality, safety, commercial, and risk functions.
- Ensure reporting is accurate, complete, consistent, traceable, and issued in accordance with established reporting calendars.
- Develop executive dashboards, performance summaries, trend reports, and management presentations.
- Provide concise analysis of project performance, highlighting key issues, emerging trends, variances, and required management actions.
Project Controls & Performance Management
- Work closely with Planning, Cost Control, Risk, Change Management, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment between reporting outputs and the project baseline.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including schedule performance, cost performance, earned value, productivity, milestones, commitments, forecasts, and progress.
- Support analysis of actual performance against approved baselines and forecasts.
- Identify trends and potential deviations before they become significant project issues.
- Challenge data and assumptions where appropriate and ensure reported information is supported by reliable source data.
- Support the development and maintenance of performance measurement methodologies.
Nuclear Project Governance
- Ensure reporting activities comply with applicable nuclear-industry requirements, project procedures, quality-management processes, and contractual obligations.
- Maintain appropriate records, documentation, approvals, and audit trails for reported information.
- Promote a strong nuclear safety culture, recognizing that schedule, cost, and production objectives must never compromise nuclear safety or quality.
- Ensure reporting reflects approved scope, configuration, design status, work controls, and project governance requirements.
- Support internal and external audits, management reviews, regulatory interactions, and project assurance activities as required.
Risk, Issues & Opportunities
- Coordinate integration of project risks, issues, opportunities, and mitigation actions into project reporting.
- Track the status and effectiveness of key mitigation and recovery actions.
- Provide trend analysis and early-warning indicators to project leadership.
- Ensure significant risks and issues are appropriately escalated through project governance channels.
Change & Configuration
- Coordinate reporting of approved and pending changes affecting scope, cost, schedule, resources, risk, and delivery.
- Ensure reporting reflects the current approved project baseline and authorized changes.
- Work with Change Management and Configuration Management teams to maintain consistency between project records and performance reports.
Stakeholder & Leadership Support
- Act as the primary reporting focal point for the project.
- Coordinate reporting inputs across multiple project organizations, contractors, suppliers, and functional teams.
- Facilitate reporting review meetings and challenge sessions with responsible managers.
- Prepare material for project leadership meetings, steering committees, client reviews, and executive briefings.
- Translate complex technical and project information into clear messages appropriate for senior decision-makers.
- Ensure actions arising from reporting cycles are clearly assigned, tracked, and closed.
Continuous Improvement
- Develop and continuously improve reporting processes, templates, dashboards, and data-management practices.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve data quality and reporting efficiency.
- Promote standardized definitions, KPI methodologies, reporting calendars, and data structures across the project.
- Establish lessons learned and apply industry and project best practices.
What You Bring To The Team
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Project Management, Business, Finance, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of eight to ten years of relevant project reporting, project controls, performance management, or PMO experience, preferably on major capital projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), AACE, PMI-SP, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Experience with project controls and reporting systems such as Primavera P6, SAP, EcoSys, Power BI, SharePoint, or equivalent platforms .
- Experience working on large, complex infrastructure, energy, nuclear, or other highly regulated projects.
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing integrated project reporting processes.
- Strong understanding of project controls principles
- Experience working with large, multidisciplinary project teams and multiple contractors or delivery partners.
- Experience preparing reports and presentations for senior management and executive stakeholders.
- Strong analytical capability and demonstrated ability to interpret large volumes of project data.
- Experience on nuclear refurbishment, nuclear new-build, outage, life-extension, or major modification projects preferred.
- Familiarity with nuclear quality assurance and quality-management systems preferred.
- Understanding of nuclear regulatory and licensing environments preferred.

Salary range: $80,000 - $130,000 per year.
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
