## Job Purpose

Mechanical and Project Engineer with capabilities to implement and communicate an operational plan for
completing a project, monitor progress and performance against the project plan; resolve operational problems,
minimize delays, identify, develop and gather necessary resources to complete the project. Working knowledge of
Mechanical systems with ability to develop schedules, budget and forecasts, select materials, equipment, project
staff and contractors. Estimate costs, resources and time required to complete. Types of equipment involved are
HVAC systems, Boilers, Controllers, Lift Station Equipment, Pumps, Air Compressors, and Dryers. At times, this
job will require supporting or managing jobs that are outside of the Mechanical Engineering discipline.

## Key Accountabilities

- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for facility mechanical systems, including design, coordination, preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, capacity planning, controls optimization, and system upgrades.
- Support the operation and reliability of facility mechanical systems, including centrifugal fans, burners, heating and cooling coils, pumps, centrifugal air compressors, centrifugal chillers, and heat exchangers.
- Maintain and manage documentation for facility mechanical systems while ensuring critical updates are communicated to site operators and stakeholders.
- Review, update, and maintain electrical and mechanical drawings throughout the project lifecycle, from design and installation through equipment acceptance and commissioning.
- Ensure building mechanical systems consistently meet customer capacity, performance, and reliability requirements.
- Develop and manage project schedules, scopes of work, budgets, and approval workflows (E-Flow) in support of plant-wide capital and infrastructure projects.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement innovative engineering solutions and technologies to replace aging equipment and systems reaching end-of-life (EOL).
- Create detailed project scopes based on departmental and operational requirements and support project planning from concept through completion.
- Manage contractor bidding, evaluation, selection, and coordination for facility and department-led engineering projects.
- Develop project budgets and investment proposals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company capital planning and prioritization processes.
- Supervise engineers, contractors, and project teams while monitoring project progress, safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance.
- Generate and maintain project tracking documentation, establish priorities, and coordinate resources to ensure successful project execution.
- Train Facilities associates on mechanical and electrical system enhancements, operational changes, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain technical reference materials, standard operating procedures, and documentation to support ongoing operations.
- Foster technical growth and team development through training, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional collaboration.

## Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

### Minimum Education

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.

Experience

- 0 to 6 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, industrial facilities, utilities, or related environments.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical systems, including system design, implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
- Working knowledge of electrical and structural systems commonly found within manufacturing facilities.
- Experience supporting facility infrastructure systems and capital improvement projects.
- Understanding of equipment reliability programs, including preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), equipment monitoring, MTTR/MTBF tracking, and end-of-life (EOL) assessments.
- Knowledge of project management principles, including project planning, budget development, cost tracking, scheduling, and progress reporting.
- Familiarity with control systems architecture, automation systems, and programming principles.
- Ability to balance operational requirements, customer needs, and facility infrastructure constraints when developing solutions.

Technical Skills

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Experience using AutoCAD to review and modify engineering drawings.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Experience generating project reports, technical documentation, and performance metrics.

## Working Conditions

- Willingness to travel periodically to Ohio-based facilities for department reviews, project coordination, training, and business planning activities.
- Work environment consists of approximately 50% manufacturing/production areas, including active construction sites, and 50% office-based work.
- May support projects and initiatives at other company facilities, affiliated locations, and North American supplier sites as business needs require.
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and planned shutdown periods as necessary to support project execution, maintenance activities, and production requirements.
- Ability to work safely in industrial and manufacturing environments while complying with all company safety policies and procedures.
