About this role

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul activities on:

GE LM6000 gas turbines

- Generators and excitation systems

- Pumps, motors, compressors, and heat exchangers

- Fuel gas and liquid fuel systems

- Cooling water, lube oil, and auxiliary systems

- Valves, piping, tubing, and pressure vessels

- Dismantle, inspect, repair, align, and reassemble rotating equipment to OEM and industry standards.

- Perform precision measurements using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, laser alignment equipment, and other diagnostic tools.

- Conduct vibration analysis, equipment inspections, and condition monitoring activities.

- Diagnose equipment failures and determine root causes.

- Support reliability improvement initiatives and outage planning activities.

- Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.

- Review equipment history and maintenance records to identify recurring issues and recommend solutions.

- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work order management and documentation.

- Maintain a strong safety culture and comply with all OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements.

- Execute LOTO procedures, work permits, JHAs, and other safety processes.

- Utilize proper PPE and follow confined space and fall protection protocols.

- Collaborate with Operations to ensure safe, reliable plant performance.

- Support outages, emergency maintenance, and operational needs.

- Participate in training, mentoring, and cross-functional development programs.

- Available for overtime, call-outs, outage work, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

- High School Diploma or GED.

- Minimum 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in power generation, heavy industrial, petrochemical, refining, aerospace, or similar industrial environments.

- Experience maintaining gas turbines, preferably GE LM6000 units.

- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, schematics, OEM manuals, and technical procedures.

- Proficiency with precision measurement, alignment, and troubleshooting techniques.

- Ability to obtain and maintain required plant safety qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

- 5+ years of power generation maintenance experience.

- GE LM6000 maintenance, outage, or overhaul experience.

- Experience with turbine borescope inspections, rigging, crane operations, and rotating equipment alignment.

- Experience using CMMS systems (Maximo, SAP, or equivalent).

- Military turbine maintenance experience or technical degree/certification in a related field.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of rotating equipment.

- Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and perform predictive/preventive maintenance.

- Effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced plant environment with a strong focus on safety and reliability.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including climbing, bending, kneeling, and prolonged standing.

- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying indoor/outdoor environmental conditions.

- Ability to wear required PPE and work safely around industrial equipment.

- Successfully complete required physical, background, and drug screening requirements.
