About the Role

Otis is seeking a highly motivated Data Science & Analytics Intern for Summer 2027 to help transform operational, financial, and customer experience data into actionable business insights. In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams to identify trends, improve business performance, support strategic decision-making, and explore opportunities to leverage AI and advanced analytics to drive value across the organization.

Responsibilities

On a typical day, you will:

- Partner with Data & AI team members and business stakeholders to understand analytical needs and define project requirements.
- Identify, access, and integrate data from multiple enterprise systems and platforms.
- Clean, transform, and analyze data to uncover meaningful insights and business opportunities.
- Develop and evaluate analytical models, machine learning solutions, or AI/GenAI workflows to address business challenges.
- Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations that support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Communicate results, insights, and recommendations through presentations, visualizations, and discussions with team members and stakeholders.
- Stay current with emerging data science, AI, and analytics techniques and contribute innovative ideas to ongoing projects.

Education

- Currently enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program and have completed at least 12 months of graduate study in Data Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Must be actively pursuing a degree and remain enrolled in an accredited degree program following the internship start date in Summer 2027.

Qualifications

- Hands-on experience with data analysis, data manipulation, and AI/GenAI technologies.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience with machine learning, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools is preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

The hourly range for this role is $30/hr to $35/hr. We may pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may change in the future. Pay within the salary range will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
