About our property:

Skamania Lodge is a Pacific Northwest resort set on 175 acres, featuring treehouses, glamping, golf, ziplining, a spa, and multiple restaurants. With over 22,000 sq. ft. of event space, it’s a premier destination for retreats, conferences, and celebrations.

What you will have an opportunity to do:

- Preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes.
- Creating new and exciting desserts and seasonal items to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers.
- Creative ability with artistic skill in decorating cakes, pastries and other desserts using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting.
- Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc.
- Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.
- Ensure you adhere to safety and health regulations and maintain a clean and orderly cooking station.

What are we looking for?

- Certificate in Culinary Arts, pastry-making, baking, or relevant field (Preferred)
- Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, vegan, sugarless etc.)
- In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition.
- Great attention to detail and creativity.
- High-volume resort or restaurant cooking experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain a Washington State Food Handler's Card.
- Intermediate knife skills and safe knife handling techniques.
- This is a 24-7, 365 day a year business requiring flexible availability that can move between days and shifts as needed.
- This position requires a minimum formal education of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Additional languages a plus.
