About this Role
Northstar Energy Solutions is seeking a dependable and safety focused Utility Materials Technician to support fleet and field operations through the accurate receipt, storage, distribution, and transportation of materials, tools, equipment, and parts. This position plays a critical role in ensuring operational teams have the resources needed to safely and effectively complete their work. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a high sense of urgency, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Location: 3326 Hardrock Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75050
Schedule: Monday-Friday (with occasional overtime and weekend work as needed)
What You'll Do
- Receive, inspect, verify, and properly store incoming shipments of materials, tools, equipment, and parts.
- Pull, stage, and distribute materials for fleet, field, and operational personnel.
- Perform local deliveries and pickups using company vehicles while adhering to all company driving policies and traffic regulations.
- Ensure materials and equipment are properly secured during transportation.
- Verify order accuracy before shipment, delivery, or issuance to field personnel.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Assist with shipping and receiving functions, including packaging, labeling, and shipment preparation.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment in accordance with company safety requirements.
- Support inventory management activities, including cycle counts, material organization, and stock replenishment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard environment.
- Accurately document material receipts, deliveries, and inventory transactions.
- Support warehouse operations through housekeeping, organization, and other assigned tasks during periods of downtime.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.

Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a warehouse or materials management role supporting utility, construction, fleet, or tooling operations.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material-handling equipment preferred.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory or warehouse systems preferred.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as business needs require.
Educational/Certification Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Additional warehouse, logistics, inventory, or material-handling certifications are a plus.
