Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Data Engineer/Architect to join our team and support our client in Columbia, MD.

What you’ll do:

- Platform Deployment & Management

Deploy and configure Open Metadata using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm charts

- Manage infrastructure across cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) or on-premises environments

- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar tools

- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and system scalability

- Data Integration & Connectivity

Configure and maintain connectors for diverse data sources including databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server), data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift), BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI), and pipeline orchestrators (Airflow, dbt)

- Develop custom connectors and integrations using Python

- Implement and monitor metadata ingestion workflows

- Troubleshoot connectivity and data lineage issues

- Database & Search Administration

Administer MySQL/PostgreSQL metadata store including backup, recovery, and performance tuning

- Manage Elasticsearch for search functionality and optimize query performance

- Monitor database health and implement scaling strategies

- Security & Compliance

Configure authentication mechanisms (SSO, OAuth, LDAP/Active Directory)

- Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and data access policies

- Ensure encryption at rest and in transit

- Maintain compliance with data governance standards and regulations

- Monitoring & Operations

Set up monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, and logging tools

- Track system performance, ingestion metrics, and data quality indicators

- Respond to incidents and perform root cause analysis

- Create and maintain operational documentation and runbooks

- Collaboration & Support

Partner with data stewards, engineers, and analysts to understand metadata requirements

- Train users on data catalog features and best practices

- Support data governance initiatives and policy implementation

- Participate in change management and platform upgrades

What you’ll need:

- 3 years’ experience in DevOps, data engineering, or platform engineering roles

- Prior experience with data catalog platforms (e.g.: Open Metadata, Collibra, Alation, etc.)

- Experience with data governance or metadata management initiatives

- Knowledge of data warehouse and lake architectures

- Knowledge of cloud platforms or Kubernetes (CKA, AWS Solutions Architect, etc.)

- Experience with Apache Airflow, dbt, or similar data pipeline tools

Bonus Points if you have:

- Ability to communicate design solutions with development/engineering team and customer

Clearance :

Must have an active TS/SCI level clearance and a willingness to sit for a polygraph

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia . The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia is: $103,200 — $196,400 USD
