The Lead Product Manager is responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and execution of omni-channel External Identity and Access Management (XIAM) capabilities. This role leads the product lifecycle from discovery and prioritization through launch, adoption, optimization, and modernization, with accountability for secure, consistent, and low-friction identity experiences across digital channels and business areas.
The role serves as the connective product leader across Insurance, CenterWell, Go365, CarePlus Health Plans, technology, architecture, security, operations, compliance, analytics, and experience teams. The Lead Product Manager maintains and prioritizes the integrated XIAM product backlog, resolves cross-portfolio dependencies and tradeoffs, and ensures delivery aligns to enterprise strategy, customer needs, regulatory obligations, and measurable business outcomes.
The portfolio includes capabilities such as registration, sign-in, multifactor authentication, account recovery, identity verification and proofing, federation and single sign-on, authorization, profile and access management, and the modernization of shared identity platforms and journeys.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Vision
- Define and communicate a clear XIAM product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap aligned with enterprise and business-area priorities
- Establish an omni-channel approach that creates consistent identity and access experiences while accommodating the distinct needs of Insurance, CenterWell, Go365, CarePlus Health Plans, and other enterprise partners
- Translate customer needs, business strategy, security priorities, regulatory requirements, operational constraints, and technology considerations into actionable product plans
- Align initiatives to Humana's strategic measures to deliver customer and operational value, differentiate through trusted experiences, and grow through scalable modern capabilities
Integrated Backlog and Roadmap Management
- Own, maintain, and continuously prioritize the integrated omni-channel XIAM product backlog across business partners, domains, platforms, and customer journeys
- Ensure Epics and Features clearly communicate business value, scope, dependencies, risks, testing needs, measurable acceptance criteria, and intended outcomes
- Balance enterprise capabilities, business-area commitments, modernization work, security and compliance needs, production health, and technical enablement when making priority decisions
- Partner with delivery teams to maintain backlog readiness, sequence work across planning increments and roadmaps, and make transparent tradeoff decisions when capacity or dependencies change
- Provide clear visibility into roadmap status, decisions, risks, funding needs, milestones, and value realization
Cross-Portfolio Leadership and Collaboration
- Build strong working relationships across Insurance, CenterWell, Go365, CarePlus Health Plans, and enterprise shared-service teams
- Create a consistent engagement model for intake, discovery, prioritization, planning, delivery, launch readiness, and post-launch optimization
- Facilitate alignment among product, engineering, architecture, security, operations, compliance, analytics, design, testing, and external business stakeholders
- Resolve cross-team dependencies and competing priorities while keeping decisions anchored in customer impact, enterprise value, risk, and strategic alignment
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for product direction, backlog prioritization, stakeholder communication, and value realization for assigned XIAM capabilities
Product Lifecycle and Modernization
- Lead discovery, business-case development, requirements definition, prioritization, delivery, launch, adoption, and continuous improvement
- Drive modernization of identity platforms and journeys to improve security, reliability, scalability, interoperability, maintainability, and customer experience
- Guide convergence toward reusable enterprise capabilities and reduce unnecessary fragmentation or duplication across channels and brands
- Ensure business readiness, operational support, documentation, monitoring, release validation, and acceptance are addressed as part of delivery
Customer, Experience, and Stakeholder Management
- Gather and synthesize feedback from members, patients, caregivers, employers, producers, providers, business partners, service teams, and operational stakeholders, as applicable
- Use journey insights, voice-of-customer feedback, production data, and operational signals to identify friction and prioritize improvements
- Partner with design and channel teams to create accessible, intuitive, and consistent experiences across web, mobile, assisted-service, and other applicable channels
- Build trust through clear communication, transparent prioritization, documented decisions, and outcome-focused execution
Data, Metrics, and Performance
- Define product and journey success measures, including adoption, registration and sign-in success, recovery completion, authentication friction, quality, reliability, security outcomes, speed, cost, and business impact
- Use quantitative and qualitative evidence to assess product performance, validate hypotheses, and inform roadmap and backlog decisions
- Monitor product health and post-launch outcomes, and lead corrective or optimization actions when results do not meet expectations
- Track risks, issues, dependencies, and decision points to improve delivery confidence and executive visibility
Governance, Security, and Compliance
- Ensure product decisions and backlog items align with enterprise architecture, security, privacy, accessibility, data, risk, compliance, and governance expectations
- Partner with identity security and business risk leaders to balance strong controls with low-friction customer experiences
- Ensure acceptance criteria are explicit, actionable, testable, outcome-focused, and address integration, security, compliance, business validation, and testing as applicable
- Promote disciplined Definition of Ready and Definition of Done practices, including dependency identification, test planning, UAT, production validation, documentation, monitoring, and business acceptance

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Progressive experience in product management, digital product strategy, platform product management, identity and access management, or related business and technology roles
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from discovery through delivery and optimization
- Demonstrated ability to define product strategy and roadmaps, manage integrated backlogs, write outcome-oriented requirements, and translate strategy into executable plans
- Experience aligning multiple business areas or brands around shared enterprise capabilities and resolving competing priorities
- Experience using data, customer insights, operational feedback, and risk considerations to make prioritization decisions and evaluate outcomes
- Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation, and influence skills across business, technical, and executive audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, health insurance, consumer digital experiences, or another regulated industry
- Experience with Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM/XIAM), including registration, authentication, MFA, account recovery, identity verification, federation, authorization, profile management, and delegated access
- Experience leading omni-channel or enterprise platform modernization across multiple brands, domains, or lines of business
- Familiarity with Agile product delivery, Jira or Azure DevOps, portfolio planning, funding alignment, and dependency management
- Experience partnering with engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, privacy, compliance, analytics, design, operations, and testing teams
- Understanding of customer-experience measurement, platform reliability, accessibility, and secure-by-design product practices

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$126,300 - $173,700 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
