Job Title: Field Technician Job Description This Field Technician role offers an excellent entry-level opportunity to build a career in a highly specialized corrosion control and cathodic protection industry. The position involves extensive fieldwork, traveling throughout the regionprimarily in and around Springfield, MAto perform testing and data collection on underground and submerged metallic structures. You will receive comprehensive training, gain multiple industry certifications, and progressively take on independent responsibilities as you support corrosion control projects and contribute to the protection and maintenance of critical infrastructure. Responsibilities

- Travel throughout the region, with a focus on the Springfield, MA area, to perform field assignments at various project sites.
- Perform basic field testing of corrosion control systems on underground and submerged metallic structures after completing training.
- Recommend appropriate troubleshooting tests and recognize when additional testing is required to evaluate system performance.
- Work independently in the field, making on-site decisions without direct supervision while maintaining a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
- Collect, record, and compile accurate field data to determine the condition of structures under evaluation.
- Submit collected field data to lead staff for review and incorporate feedback into future work.
- Develop familiarity with standard survey methods and construction practices related to corrosion control projects.
- Evaluate field data and prepare draft reports for review by the area supervisor or lead team members.
- Operate a company vehicle safely and drive from site to site in compliance with all traffic and safety regulations.
- Communicate clearly with team members, clients, and management staff to coordinate work, report findings, and support project goals.
- Maintain a willingness to learn new techniques, obtain industry certifications, and expand technical knowledge in corrosion control and cathodic protection.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and compliance requirements, including those associated with government contracts.

Essential Skills

- Willingness and ability to travel throughout the region as required for the job, with frequent work in the Springfield, MA area.
- Ability to work independently after training, including self-motivation, time management, and strong sense of urgency.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and management staff.
- Clean driving record and ability to operate a company vehicle safely.
- Ability to pass a drug test and motor vehicle record (MVR) check as a condition of employment.
- Eligibility to work on government contracts, including U.S. citizenship requirements.
- Ability to perform fieldwork in a construction and outdoor environment, including travel between multiple sites.
- Strong willingness to learn corrosion control, cathodic protection, and troubleshooting techniques with no prior experience required.

Work Environment This role is primarily based in a field and construction site environment, where you will travel daily between project locations using a company vehicle. Most work takes place outdoors or at active job sites around the Springfield, MA region and beyond, often on underground and submerged metallic structures. You will work both independently and alongside other field and project staff, following established safety and construction practices for corrosion control projects. The position involves varying weather conditions, physical movement around job sites, and adherence to site-specific safety protocols and attire requirements typical of field and construction settings. Standard hours may vary based on project needs and travel requirements, and you will use field testing equipment and survey tools as part of your daily responsibilities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
