Job mission:
As a Manager for Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), Technical Supplier Managers (TSM), and Cost Engineering (CE), this person will lead a team of SQEs, TSMs, and CEs who have the responsibility to develop industrialized solutions for Wilton’s new products in coordination with the internal design team and ASML key suppliers, and support initiatives to drive the cost of goods down. These new products include optical, opto-mechanical, opto-electronic, electronic, mechanical, and mechatronic systems, subsystems, and components. Using your leadership and technical skills, you will work closely with your team to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of the product generation process and drive the industrialization process in alignment with the ASML project plan. In parallel, you will be responsible for engaging in and coordinating people management activities and driving the career growth of your team in line with the DM and sector expectations.
Job description:
Within the SC&Q department (SS&P), the TSM is the primary individual responsible for ensuring that the technical capabilities of our suppliers are aligned with the technical roadmap of ASML. The Cost Engineer is the primary individual responsible for delivering high-quality cost calculations for our designed parts and leading technical cost workshops with our suppliers. The Manager role will report to the Head of the SQE, Cost Engineer (CE), and TSM group in SS&P Wilton.
This job requires a capable and accomplished leader to:
- Directly manage a team of 10-15 Cost Engineers, SQEs, and TSMs.
- Develop and sustain project results, including on-time delivery of Wilton’s products to the specified performance levels with the right quality, reliability, move rate, and cost.
- Secure the quality of the team's deliverables, including industrialization and cost documentation, and physical material from our suppliers (secured all the way through the n-tier supply chain).
- Support and maintain responsibility for the way-of-working competence activities of the SQE team, including training, communication, and process maturity management. Responsible for developing technical expertise within your group, technology roadmaps for our suppliers, and maintaining alignment with our key suppliers and manufacturing team to drive the industrialization efforts of the project.
- Build and develop technical supplier quality competencies within ASML (e.g., SPC, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, Operational Excellence).
- Work with peers and management to align and maintain responsibility for all aspects of people management, including training, performance management, coaching/mentoring, project assignments, and budgets.
- Support recruiting activities for your team and the group; build your team with competent and diligent employees.
- Support your team's technology development. Stay current with the latest technology and manufacturing developments in the various fields. Work with your project managers and module architects on technology road mapping for our suppliers, perform competency development with your team, support problem-solving and lessons learned activities, and work with your team to develop technical solutions for your products.
- Manage your stakeholders. Communicate with your stakeholders and customers on a routine basis, set expectations, and communicate any gaps.
- Create a vision for your group and drive your team. Strive to create a continuous improvement environment and encourage a learning organization.
- Some travel (up to 20%) to Europe, Asia, and within the U.S. can be expected.
Education and experience:
- Minimum BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a similar field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the development and manufacturing of complex high-tech systems.
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience with direct reports.
- Direct industry experience in one or more technical fields related to your degree is a plus. Equivalent project management experience will also be considered.

- Experience in manufacturing and expertise in Lean and Six Sigma.
- Demonstrated team player with a strong quality orientation and highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Capability to interface with multidisciplinary groups (including senior leadership) and willingness to take on responsibility, follow through, and help your team keep multiple simultaneous projects on schedule.
- Willingness to own integrated systems performance and support the entire product life cycle (development through sustaining engineering); strives to enable your team to deliver the right design solution at the right cost and at the right time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to communicate effectively with your team, senior management, technology partners, and customers.
Additional Responsibilities: There is potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage and currents.

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
