Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our MRI Technologist, you will play a vital role in our diagnostic imaging services at St. Elizabeth Hospital. You will be responsible for the safe and accurate operation of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images. By utilizing your expertise in anatomy, physics, and advanced scanning protocols, you will help our physicians provide precise patient diagnoses while upholding the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and patient care.

Every day you will prepare and operate MRI equipment, verify patient safety through rigorous pre-screening protocols, and position patients effectively to ensure superior image quality. You will maintain patient records, manage PACS archival, and assist with clinical workflows to optimize patient flow. In this role, you will also serve as a key resource for the department, providing mentorship to staff, maintaining equipment integrity, and ensuring all imaging procedures are performed in strict adherence to medical safety standards and internal protocols.

To be successful in this role, you will hold graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology and possess active ARRT (RTR) and/or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (RTMR) certification, alongside a valid Washington State Medical Radiographer license and BLS-CPR certification. You should have a deep knowledge of MRI safety, physics, and patient care standards. We are looking for a professional who demonstrates excellent communication skills, the ability to manage complex workloads, and a commitment to maintaining a collaborative and high-quality environment for both patients and clinical staff.

- Prepares equipment for imaging tests, based on physicians’ orders and in adherence to department safeguards and protocols to ensure quality results.

- Prepares patient and performs MRI procedures.

- Maintains records and logs as required by department protocols and licensure requirements.

- Performs incidental general office duties to include; answering phone; scheduling; filing; maintaining patient records; ordering supplies.

Required

Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology - upon hire and;

Medical Radiographer: WA (MRAD:WA) - upon hire and;

Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT (RTR) - upon hire or

Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging (RTMR) - upon hire and;

Basic Life Support (through AHA) - CPR (BLS-CPR)
