The Role:
We are looking for our next Analytical Technician to join our Analytical Team. The Analytical Technician will be responsible for:
• Conducting laboratory tests and performing tasks according to accepted methods and training prescribed by the Analytical and Quality teams.
• Supporting the Analytical Lead in the development, validation, qualification, and documentation of analytical methods, including liquid and gas chromatography and related analytical techniques.
• Supporting application projects and technical service requests. Analyzing results and maintaining records of data and samples.
• Performing work under minimal guidance following training.
• Mastering routine laboratory methods and tasks and training others when required.
• Supporting project leads during technology transfers and ensuring analytical methodologies comply with external regulations. .
This is a full-time position, 5 days per week on site, located in Larkin, MI.
Compensation:
The current wage for this role is estimated to be approximately $40.79/hour. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
What You'll Do:
• Understand the group's objectives and be an important contributor to the technical solutions that drive project and team success.
• Actively participate in team meetings focused on safety, process improvement, problem solving, and other key topics. Effectively share learnings with application, regional, and global teams.
• Use knowledge of relevant technologies to quickly assess alternative approaches and provide recommendations for process improvements, as appropriate.
• Proactively identify and implement improvements related to Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S).
What You’ll Need:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Laboratory Medicine.
- Experience: 2+ years or more of related experience in pharmaceutical and/or dietary supplement dosage form preparation/characterization, dosage form excipients, polymer characterization, or polymer chemistry
- Requires proficiency with standard workstation software, including Word, Excel, and any specialized computer-based systems (as appropriate) Strong technical and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
- Understanding of laboratory operation and basic Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements such as safe operating procedures (SOP) and management of change (MOC). Understanding and strong commitment to safety for themselves and their co-workers.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments independently with broad guidance from leadership.
- Written and verbal communication skills are sufficient to communicate technical work, results, and observations effectively with others across functions and to multiple levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies with an understanding of basic chemistry and biology principles and apply understanding to make suggestions for improvements
- Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
- A self-starter who can identify, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks.
- Ability to safely lift materials and equipment weigh 50 lbs and assist others with lifting items more than 50 lbs
