About this role
MCIS is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful execution of mission-critical construction projects. This role serves as an extension of the Project Manager, assisting with project planning, coordination, documentation, scheduling, procurement, reporting, and client communication to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, executing, and closing out construction projects
- Coordinate project activities between field operations, project management teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
- Maintain and manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, drawings, specifications, meeting minutes, and potential change orders
- Ensure project documents are accurate , current, distributed properly, and maintained with company standards
- Develop and maintain project logs, tracking reports, and administrative records
- Assist with project scheduling, milestone tracking, and short-term look-ahead planning
- Coordinate material procurement activities, expediting logs, deliveries, and material tracking
- Monitor project progress and communicate potential schedule impacts, risks, or issues to the Project Manager
- Assist with budget tracking, cost monitoring, and forecasting activities
- Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting agendas, minutes, reports, and follow-up action items
- Assist with quality control activities, inspections, and project documentation reviews
- Support project closeout activities, including punch lists, as-built documentation, warranties, turnover packages, and final record documentation
- Assist in the preparation of project status reports and final project summaries
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of construction or project management experience
- Understanding of construction budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and contract administration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in both office and active construction site environments
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Technical Skills
- Experience supporting mission-critical, data center
- Understanding of project documentation processes, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout documentation
- Familiarity with procurement, material management, and subcontractor coordination
- Proficiency in:
Procore and Bluebeam
- Microsoft Office
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel
- Ability to walk construction sites and navigate uneven terrain
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated work areas
- Ability to stand, walk, and conduct site reviews
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry project materials or equipment.
