The Parts Inventory Manager will partner with AutoNation's product and category managers, procurement, marketing, dealership associates, field leadership, and other internal business stakeholders to execute purchasing, sales, and inventory stocking strategies for all aftermarket parts and accessories. This role maintains ongoing communication across AutoNation's departments, generates reports, and administers dashboards detailing the KPIs that measure the performance of each product and sales channel. The role also supports the Product Management, Customer Service, E-Commerce, and Sourcing teams, and reports to the Director, AutoNation Parts Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Coordinate and monitor parts inventory levels nationwide for assigned lines of parts, including dealership inventory and e-commerce.

- Assess current product stocking positions and identify opportunities for improvement that allow internal partners to better serve customers.

- Derive stocking models for individual locations based on historical sales data across varying channels, future industry trends, and demand.

- Evaluate competitive purchases and create action plans to ensure the sales and stocking success of assigned categories.

- Create and maintain repositories of historical parts inventories and purchases for non-stocked items to inform stocking models.

- Compare sales and inventory trends to previous periods and build the case for increases or decreases in stock.

- Develop ongoing reporting on sell-through opportunities for aged and non-conforming stocking positions across internal stakeholder inventories.

- Develop measurement tools and recurring reporting best practices to identify changing market trends.

- Maintain consistent and proactive communication with store leadership and parts teams to ensure inventory accuracy, address inventory-related issues, and support operational needs across all locations.

- Communicate recommendations, trends, and compliance updates to appropriate stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in business, analytics, engineering, data, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management and strategy.

- Demonstrated experience using CDK to manage parts inventory, process adjustments, generate reports, and maintain inventory accuracy across multiple store locations.

- Expertise in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Access/SQL.

- Advanced proficiency in relational databases (SQL, Access).

- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and graphs.

- Knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics.

- Has held Parts Manager or Assistant Part Manager or Parts Wholesale Manager positions.

- Basic familiarity with product management.

- Basic familiarity with marketing and online sales channels.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Strong data analysis skills.

- Ability to think critically and take appropriate action as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree in business, analytics, engineering, data and 10 years of experience in inventory management and strategy.
