Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Advanced Technical Training Specialist. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, validate, deliver, and maintain technical training programs, including courseware, lesson plans, training aids, documentation, and hands-on exercises; refresh content annually and following major baseline or capability changes
- Evaluate courseware and training effectiveness; incorporate operator feedback, operational scenarios, peer reviews, and instructor feedback to drive continuous improvement
- Deliver classroom, laboratory, field, and on-the-job training for customer personnel, translating complex system, software, network, and infrastructure concepts into clear, usable instructions
- Lead and mentor instructors and training personnel; coordinate with engineering, software, infrastructure, technical writing, operations, and customer teams to ensure training reflects current system capabilities and mission needs
- Serve as an on-site technical expert and customer advocate by gathering operational feedback, supporting technical meetings and briefings, and recommending training, product, process, and system improvements
- Support field activities involving installation, integration, testing, maintenance, servicing, and troubleshooting of operational and R&D systems; coordinate issue resolution with internal teams, vendors, OEMs, and customers
- Develop and maintain technical procedures, maintenance guidance, corrective-action records, troubleshooting documentation, and technical recommendations
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies and mission-system capabilities; support on-call activities as required and identify opportunities to apply AI, automation, and modern training technologies
Required Qualifications:
- Experience designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining technical training for complex systems, products, or operational environments
- Advanced knowledge of instructional design, courseware development, documentation, configuration control, validation, and training delivery methods
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into effective training for audiences with varied technical backgrounds
- Strong communication, presentation, customer-engagement, analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience collaborating with engineering, development, operations, test, technical writing, customers, vendors, and OEMs
- Ability to independently analyze technical information, identify learning needs, develop practical training solutions, and manage competing priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and tools used to develop and maintain training materials
- Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and software supporting training environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in high-visibility, rapid-response, mission or operational environments as a customer-facing instructor, field engineer, site lead, operator-support specialist, or technical advisor
- Experience with system administration, scripting or automation, virtualization, and troubleshooting system, network, hardware, software, and operational issues
- Experience developing technical procedures, maintenance guides, operating instructions, troubleshooting guides, technical reports, interactive multimedia training, simulations, or digital learning content
- Relevant certifications, such as Red Hat, Security+, Network+, A+, or comparable credentials
- Demonstrated ability to influence customer and program leadership through sound technical recommendations, clear communication, tact, and strong customer advocacy
Workplace Options:

USD $118,769.00 - USD $128,512.00 /Yr.
