## Position Summary
As a Senior Electrical Engineer on the Product Development team within R&D, you will lead complex engineering initiatives and perform advanced electrical engineering work with minimal supervision. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, integration, testing, and documentation of electrical control systems that support both new product development and sustaining engineering efforts. You will provide technical leadership for control system electronics, electromechanical interfaces, compliance with machine specifications, and adherence to applicable electrical codes and regulatory requirements.
Leveraging your technical expertise, you will solve complex engineering challenges, identify and mitigate project risks, drive innovative design solutions, and help shape product direction. You will serve as a technical resource and mentor to engineers, designers, and technicians while partnering across engineering disciplines and business functions to deliver high-quality products and successful commercialization outcomes.
## What You'll do as a Senior Electrical Engineer
- Lead electrical engineering activities for new product development and sustaining engineering projects, ensuring successful execution from concept through commercialization.
- Develop and implement complex electrical and control system designs, including system architecture, component selection, and integration.
- Own requirements development, design verification, validation activities, and technical documentation to ensure product performance and compliance.
- Conduct technical analyses, feasibility studies, and design reviews to evaluate alternatives and drive informed engineering decisions.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks while proactively communicating impacts and recommendations to project teams and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Systems, Software, Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, and Product Management to deliver integrated solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, designers, and technicians, promoting engineering best practices and professional development.
- Drive resolution of complex technical issues through root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and implementation of effective corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical, safety, EMC, and regulatory standards while supporting product certification and regulatory submissions.
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and adoption of emerging technologies to enhance product performance, reliability, and engineering effectiveness.
## The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of related electrical or electronic engineering experience required.
- Demonstrated experience leading electrical design activities for complex electromechanical systems.
- Advanced experience with engineering development tools including EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, Altium, OrCAD, SPICE, Microsoft Excel, and Visio.
- Experience with system architecture development, design verification, and validation methodologies.
- Strong understanding of electrical system design, troubleshooting, risk analysis, and root cause investigation.
- Experience with embedded hardware, motor controls, power distribution, sensors, data acquisition, and machine communication protocols.
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical safety, EMC, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience developing detailed engineering documentation, test reports, and design records.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentor less experienced engineers.
- Demonstrates critical thinking and sound engineering judgment when solving complex technical challenges.
- Drives resolution of technical issues through innovative and practical solutions.
- Influences project teams and cross-functional stakeholders through technical expertise and effective communication.
## The Preferred Experience, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in medical device, laboratory equipment, industrial controls, or regulated product development environments.
- Experience with NI LabVIEW.
- Lean, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA, or Design for Reliability experience.
- Project leadership experience in cross-functional development programs.

Pay range for this opportunity is $92,650 - $119,900. This position is also eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
