About this role

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Vice President, Gaming (Ontario), this position is responsible for developing, planning, and maintaining strategies for poker and slot tournaments across multiple gaming sites. The role collaborates closely with each site’s General Manager/Assistant General Manager to ensure consistent and effective execution of poker and slot tournaments.

Key Accountabilities:

Tournament Strategy and Planning:

- Lead the development of tournament concepts, structures, schedules, eligibility criteria and prize distributions in support of the broader provincial gaming strategy
- Plan and maintain the poker and slot tournament calendar across assigned locations
- Identify and propose new tournament formats and promotional opportunities to enhance player engagement and financial performance.

Tournament Operations and Execution:

- Act as the final operational authority during tournaments.
- Manage poker tournament registration, seating, table assignments, blind structures, breaks, re-entries, and payouts.
- Coordinate slot tournament heats, machine assignments, scoring, leaderboards and advancement criteria.

Compliance and Stakeholder Management

- Coordinate tournament approvals in accordance with Compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and complementary departments to secure required operational support for tournament delivery.

Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:

- Monitor and track participation, gaming activity, expenses, revenue, guest feedback and overall tournament performance across assigned locations.
- Review tournament results and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance operational effectiveness, guest experience and financial performance.
- Perform other operational duties as required to support tournament operations and Gaming business needs.

Educational and Functional Requirements:

- Secondary School Diploma required; Post-Secondary education or a suitable combination of education and experience is an asset.
- Minimum five (5) years of casino operations experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience; casino leadership experience is considered an asset.
- Computer literacy in MS Office Must be eligible to obtain registration as a Category 1 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Smart Serve Ontario certification.

Salary range: CAD 71,500 - 98,500
