The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as strategic partner and business advisor to the GSS leadership team. Provide insights, and develop financial strategy, in alignment with GSS business strategy.
- Lead team of approximately 8 finance staff, ensuring adequate development, training, and capabilities to support and deliver GSS objectives.
- In coordination with FP&A, track GSS financial salients, update forecasts, report progress/perform variance analysis, and make recommendations to GSS leadership, as appropriate.
- Lead the financial aspects of the Request for Bid Approval (RBA) process and serve as key member of contract negotiations team, as applicable.
- Provide financial leadership and review of GSS SOA requests.
- Lead the GSS Estimate at Complete (EAC) quarterly reviews (in coordination with the SBU Finance Operations lead) and monthly Business Area Reviews (BAR).
- Track GSS budgets and ensure any supplemental requests are supported by a sound business case. Coordinate closely with the SMS Budgets and Rates team on budget analysis and indirect rate management.
- Provide financial leadership of the annual 5 year Integrated Business Plan (IBP) for GSS.
- Ensure consistency in financial practices across GSS programs and ensure synthesis and alignment.
- Influence and represent GSS on financial matters.
- Practice curiosity with an analytical mindset to provide strategic insights.
- Develop talent and implement a strong succession planning framework.
- Successfully lead a geographically disbursed team.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working o n-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions :
- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Short Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relate field plus 12 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Aerospace and Defense (A&D) or similar government contracting experience.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- CPA, CMA, CFA or other equivalent financial certificate/license.
- Advanced Degree.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $138267 - $235053
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
