Sagewood is recruiting for a hospitality focused Lead Sever to join our culinary team! This role provides full-scope, hands on serving functions within the community.

The Lead Server is responsible for assisting the Food & Beverage management with the coordination, seating, appearance and maintenance of the dining area and server stations and ensuring that courteous and efficient services are delivered.

Principal Duties:

- In the absence of the Food & Beverage manager, supervises the physical appearance of the dining room area and server stations including table pedestals, table place setting, chairs, floors, drapes and lighting.

- Coordinates the seating of the residents and guests in the efficient, courteous manner.

- Schedule stations and work assignments for the servers to ensure standards are met.

- Record meal counts, reservations and additional charges

- Confers with Food & Beverage manager regarding dining room status

- Serve customers using proper serving etiquette and promote an inviting dining atmosphere.

Other Duties:

- Assist in implementing of policy and procedures of the dining room

- Assist in providing on the job training for dining room personnel

- Provides food, beverage and bar services as needed

- Participates in cost control measures

- Attends in service training and education sessions as assigned

- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

- Ensures the dining room services is in compliance with all local federal and state regulations in relation to service, sanitation and personnel

- Inspect equipment to determine repair or maintenance repairs to Food & Beverage manager

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

- Minimum completion of sophomore year in high school required

- Experience in food service work preferred

- Experience in working with seniors preferred

- Ability to interpret and explain menu

- Ability to communicate, understand, empathize and be tolerant of residents' families, visitors, peers, supervisors and subordinates.

Physical requirements/ working conditions:

Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the workday; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; must be able to lift of to 50 pounds frequently.
