The Global Manufacturing Engineer (GME) will be required to work closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, production supervisors, quality control personnel, and supply chain managers. Their primary responsibility will be to optimize production processes, reduce costs, improve product quality, and enhance overall operational efficiency within a manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Process Design: Design and optimize manufacturing processes, considering workflow, material flow, equipment selection, and production layout.
- Issue Resolution: Lead rapid corrective actions for manufacturing build-process issues at production sites. Ensure that no GME-related issue affects customers, manufacturing operations, schedules, or GP eFAI approvals.
- NPI and DFX Support: Complete NPI and DFX reviews on schedule and in accordance with the development process. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver timely, effective solutions to issues throughout the NPI phases.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that products meet established quality standards by implementing effective quality-control processes and inspection methods.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency using lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other improvement frameworks.
- Equipment and Tooling: Select and design the equipment, tools, and fixtures required to support manufacturing processes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes and methodologies.
- Experience developing and defining assembly manufacturing processes and contributing to the Bill of Process (BOP) and Bill of Engineering (BOE).
- Extensive expertise in server storage products.
- Experience in creating the tooling-fixture for the manufacturing assembly team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in server, rack, or complex system manufacturing environments
- Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement leadership
- Experience working in a global, multi-site manufacturing environment
- Certifications (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ)
