Position

Expatriate - Powerhouse Maintenance Manager

Introduction

The Powerhouse Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls maintenance within the powerhouse, ensuring safe and efficient operations. This role includes directing maintenance personnel, planning routine maintenance, managing spare parts, and coordinating emergency repairs. The Powerhouse Maintenance Manager ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and operational policies while optimizing maintenance activities to improve plant reliability and performance.

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Powerhouse Manager, this position will be a fly in – fly out rotation, based at the Fekola Gold Project in Mali.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead maintenance activities across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe, reliable and efficient powerhouse operations;

- Plan and manage preventive, predictive, corrective and major outage maintenance, ensuring work is completed on schedule and within budget;

- Improve equipment reliability and plant performance by monitoring maintenance results, reducing unplanned downtime and implementing continuous improvement initiatives;

- Manage spare parts, materials, tools and inventory to support maintenance requirements and minimize operational disruptions;

- Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements, including inspections, risk controls, work permits and statutory documentation;

- Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, monitor costs and variances, and identify cost-effective solutions;

- Lead, develop and support the maintenance team through clear work assignments, performance feedback, training and workforce planning;

- Coordinate with operations, safety, environmental, warehouse, planning and other stakeholders to meet plant objectives and resolve maintenance priorities;

- Provide hands-on technical support and sound decision-making during breakdowns, emergencies and periods of high workload; and

- Other duties as set out by the Company.

Competencies and Requirements

- Recognized Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Degree / Diploma

- Minimum 10 years' experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, with experience in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance systems and procedures

- Minimum 3 years' experience in workshop / maintenance tool machining

- Multi-disciplinary experience in mechanical, electrical, control, and instrumentation fields

- Knowledge of HFO/diesel power plant maintenance planning and execution

- Ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations

- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, logic drawings, technical manuals, and P&ID’s

- Experience in writing maintenance procedures, work requests, and purchase requisitions

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to effectively communicate within the team
