The opportunity

As the General Manager - Loyalty Domain Lead, you will provide executive leadership, strategic direction, and risk governance for the entire Loyalty Domain technology ecosystem across Woolworths Group. Reporting directly to the Chief Digital Technology Officer (CDTO), you will own the overarching technology strategy and multi-year roadmap covering Everyday Rewards, Rewards partnerships, Everyday Insurance, Mobile, Giftcards & Shop, Member Experience (Everyday Rewards app and website), Customer Data & Audience, and low-latency realtime loyalty capabilities.

In this pivotal executive position, you will lead a high-performing, cross-geography engineering and architecture organisation of approximately 200 team members across Australia and New Zealand. You will balance rapid delivery velocity with enterprise-grade platform stability, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance, while driving fiscal governance and technology stack consolidation.

What you'll do

- Act as the trusted technology advisor for Everyday Rewards ANZ, driving alignment between technology delivery and commercial outcomes to shape business direction and maximize customer value.
- Own and execute the multi-year technology strategy across core Loyalty sub-domains including Everyday Rewards, Member Experience, Everyday Insurance, Giftcards, and Customer Data platforms.
- Maintain operational budget oversight, driving cost avoidance, tech stack consolidation, cloud footprint optimization, and strategic vendor contract negotiations.
- Guarantee high availability, resiliency, and cybersecurity across realtime transaction platforms while enforcing regulatory and privacy standards.
- Champion progressive software engineering practices, continuous improvement, and AI-driven automation across the organisation.
- Direct, mentor, and develop a team of Heads of Technology, Architects, Product Leads, and Engineering Managers while translating Voice of Team (VOT) insights into actions that strengthen culture and psychological safety.

What you'll bring

- Extensive senior technology leadership experience in complex enterprise environments across Retail, Digital, FinTech, Information Media, Telecommunications Insurance Services or FMCG sectors.
- Proven track record architecting customer loyalty ecosystems, event-driven engines, Customer Data Platforms, mobile apps, microservices, and IAM.
- Demonstrated enterprise financial acumen managing operating/capital budgets, vendor contracting, and cost optimization.
- Proven capacity to lead, inspire, and retain multi-disciplinary technical teams across geographies with empathetic leadership.
- Advanced capability in directing strategic relationships with global system integrators, cloud vendors, and technology partners.
- Strategic awareness of the Australian and New Zealand retail landscape, alongside tertiary qualifications in IT or Computer Science.
