Role Summary
The Production Coordinator is responsible for supporting daily production planning and coordination activities to ensure the efficient flow of materials, work orders, and finished goods through the manufacturing process.
This role works closely with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to monitor production schedules, resolve shortages, track order progress, and maintain accurate production records. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring production targets and customer delivery commitments are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
Production Coordination
- Coordinate daily production schedules to support manufacturing requirements and customer demand.
- Monitor work order progress and ensure production activities are completed according to schedule.
- Track production output and escalate any delays or issues impacting delivery commitments.
- Support production teams in maintaining schedule adherence and operational efficiency.
Material & Inventory Management
- Monitor material availability to support production requirements.
- Work closely with Purchasing, Warehouse, and Supply Planning teams to resolve material shortages.
- Assist in inventory monitoring and stock reconciliation activities.
- Ensure timely availability of materials for production.
Order & Schedule Management
- Create, release, and maintain production orders within ERP/MRP systems.
- Update production schedules based on changing business priorities and operational requirements.
- Communicate production status and schedule changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Support fulfilment of customer orders through effective coordination with cross-functional teams.
Reporting & Data Management
- Maintain accurate production records and system transactions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as schedule attainment, backlog, inventory levels, and on-time delivery.
- Support data analysis and reporting activities to improve production performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Liaise with Production, Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Quality, and Warehouse teams to support business objectives.
- Participate in planning and operational review meetings.
- Escalate production risks, material constraints, or delays in a timely manner.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
Required
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Production Coordination, Production Planning, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, or a related role.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JDE, or equivalent.
- Experience in medical device, electronics, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of production scheduling and inventory control.
- Experience preparing operational reports and production metrics.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
