About this role

Main responsibilities

- Conduct legal and factual research on arguments, legal precedents, case law, legislation, regulatory guidance and other relevant information for dispute resolution, competition law and anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABC) compliance matters.
- Assist lawyers in drafting legal advice, articles and client alerts, and preparing reports on cases, legislation and other developments in dispute resolution, competition law and ABC compliance.
- Support dispute resolution matters, including document review and production, preparation and management of submissions, evidence and witness materials, and other case-management tasks as assigned.
- Assist lawyers in preparing for hearings and meetings before the People's Courts, arbitral tribunals and other relevant competent authorities.
- Support competition law matters, including merger control assessments and filings, competition compliance reviews, market and industry research, and responses to regulatory enquiries.
- Support ABC compliance matters, including legal research, compliance due diligence, policy and procedure reviews, risk assessments, compliance training materials and related client deliverables.
- Assist lawyers with administrative and matter-management work.
- Attend relevant Dispute Resolution, Competition and Compliance trainings.

Requirements:

General

- Last-year law students or fresh graduates from Ho Chi Minh Law University, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; University of Economics and Law (HCMC).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex ideas
- Highly motivated, quick learner with close attention to details
- Excellent analytical, organizational and planning skills
- Ability to handle pressure and sensitive matters; ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach
- Thorough competency with relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new applications.

Technical

- Strong understanding of Vietnam's legal and regulatory framework
- Demonstrated interest in dispute resolution, competition law and/or ABC compliance; relevant coursework, research, internships or practical experience is an advantage
- Ability to research and analyse legislation, case law, regulatory materials and factual records, and to present findings clearly and accurately
- Awareness of confidentiality, conflicts, legal privilege and the handling of sensitive information in contentious, regulatory and compliance matters
