POSITION SUMMARY
As a Technical Architect you will be responsible to successfully design and manage the delivery of complex Salesforce solutions. These technologies include but are not necessarily limited to Salesforce.com products and APIs, Apex/Visualforce, Lightning, mobile development technologies, and integration technologies – MuleSoft, Heroku, etc. You are both a big picture thinker and in-depth problem solver, your knowledge and skills are both broad and deep. You take pride in designing systems that stand up to high volumes and won't fail at critical points. You have a good mix of technical and enterprise skills when it comes to architecting a solution. The solutions you design are built for the long term and will scale with the customer's growth plans seamlessly. You have proven experience integrating systems via API’s as well as a strong development background.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

- Own solution architecture across Salesforce Sales Cloud/Service Cloud, MuleSoft integrations, and Heroku applications; produce high-level and detailed designs (HLD/LLD) aligned to enterprise standards

- Strategic innovation (AI/automation) & platform direction: Provide thought leadership on platform architecture, operating model, and best practices to scale capabilities and reduce time-to-value; champion AI and automation (e.g., intelligent routing, agent assist, next-best-action, workflow automation) to improve customer/agent experience and reduce cost-to-serve.

- Governance, adoption & value realization: Establish governance for data quality, privacy, security, and compliance , including standards for releases, integrations, and reusable components; drive adoption and benefits realization through change management, enablement, KPI dashboards, and continuous optimization of user journeys and processes.

- Financial & commercial management: Own portfolio financial management including estimates and budgeting, forecasting, accruals vs. actuals, and vendor commercial governance including SOW development/review, PO management, and spend tracking.

RESOURCES MANAGED
- Financial Accountability
- Lead key programs and BAU delivery for Global Commercial , owning end-to-end execution across eCommerce, Marketing, Content Management and Web with strong governance, quality, and on-time outcomes.
- Own portfolio financials , managing an estimated ~$1M delivery/resource budget plus an additional budget for software licensing , including forecasting, accruals vs. actuals, and value tracking.
- Manage vendor commercial operations— estimates, SOWs, POs , and contract controls—ensuring cost transparency and delivery accountability.
- Supervision
- People leadership: Directly manage a core team of 4 –6 team members and provide matrix/indirect leadership for delivery squads totaling approximately 30 FTEs plus 30+ contractors , ensuring clear accountability, capacity planning, and performance outcomes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
· 8+ years in CRM/platform engineering with 3+ years in an architecture/technical lead capacity
· Demonstrated architecture and delivery experience on:
· Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud (large orgs, enterprise complexity)
· MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (API design, flows, policies, runtime deployment)
· Heroku (app architecture, scaling, data services, security)
· Experience leading implementations that include identity/security controls, data governance, and integrations with enterprise systems
Preferred Experience
· Multi-org strategy, domain separation, and large-scale data strategy (LDV patterns)
· Event-driven architecture (Platform Events / CDC / pub-sub patterns)
· Experience in regulated environments and validated delivery practices
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Core Salesforce Architecture & Delivery
· Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture (multi-tenant model, governor limits, platform capabilities)
· Data modeling and configuration best practices (record types, sharing model, permission sets, profiles, role hierarchy)
· Automation design and performance (Flows, approval processes; when to use Apex)
· Apex architecture and patterns (bulkification, asynchronous processing, error handling, testing strategy)
· UI architecture across Lightning (LWC, Aura as needed), Lightning Design System, UX performance considerations
· Familiarity with platform authentication patterns (SAML, SSO, OAuth)
Integration (MuleSoft + Salesforce)
· API-led connectivity (Experience/API/Process layers), RAML/OAS design and versioning
· Security patterns: OAuth, JWT, mTLS (as required), client credentials, connected apps, certificate management
· Error handling and resiliency: retries, DLQs, idempotency, circuit breakers, back-pressure strategies
· Monitoring and operations: logging, correlation IDs, dashboards, alerting, runbooks
Heroku
· Application design on Heroku (dyno sizing, scaling, stateless patterns)
· Data services (Postgres) and performance tuning
· Secure configuration and secrets management (config vars, key rotation practices)
· Integration between Heroku apps and Salesforce (Heroku Connect or APIs) where applicable
DevOps / SDLC
· SFDX-based CI/CD and environment strategy (branching, packaging, scratch orgs/sandboxes)
· Code quality and security scanning approach; dependency management
· Agile delivery experience (story estimation, technical spikes, sprint ceremonies)
PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Availability to work between 1pm IST to 10pm IST hours (minimum 3 hours of overlap with US ET Time zone)
