# Java Spring Boot Developer – Capital Markets

## About the Role
We are looking for a Java Spring Boot Developer to join our engineering team working on technology solutions for a leading Capital Markets client. The role involves developing scalable backend services, REST APIs, database integrations, and financial applications. The ideal candidate should have strong fundamentals in Java and Spring Boot and a willingness to understand capital market workflows, trading systems, market data, and financial products.
## Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Design and develop scalable REST APIs and microservices.
- Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
- Work with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Develop database queries and data-access layers.
- Integrate applications with internal and external financial systems.
- Understand and implement business requirements related to Capital Markets.
- Work on modules related to trading, orders, securities, portfolios, market data, settlements, or financial workflows.
- Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in code reviews and Agile development activities.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, QA engineers, technical leads, and client teams.
- Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to root-cause analysis.
Required Skills
Java
- Strong knowledge of Core Java and OOP concepts.
- Good understanding of Collections, Exception Handling, Multithreading, and Java 8+ features.
- Knowledge of Streams and Lambda expressions.
Spring Boot
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
- Spring MVC and REST APIs.
- Dependency Injection.
- Spring Data JPA / Hibernate.
- Exception handling.
- Basic understanding of Spring Security.
Database
- Good knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Understanding of joins, indexes, transactions, and query optimization.
Microservices & APIs
- Understanding of microservices architecture.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs.
- Understanding of HTTP, JSON, authentication, and API integration.
- Basic knowledge of distributed systems.
Tools

- Basic understanding of CI/CD .
## Capital Markets Knowledge – Preferred
Exposure to Capital Markets, Banking, FinTech, or Financial Services will be an advantage. Knowledge of any of the following is preferred:

## Experience
1–4 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development, preferably with Java 8+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, SQL, and JPA/Hibernate.
## Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
