Internship Job Title: Enterprise Transformation Intern
Internship Period: 11 January 2027 – 30 June 2027
Job Description
• Support the setup of Transformation Management Office and maintenance of a consolidated view of transformation initiatives, milestones, accountable owners, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions and expected outcomes.
• Assist the transformation workstreams by preparing structured analysis, progress updates and working materials covering process re-engineering, delivery governance, AI acceleration, change and adoption, service ownership, and architecture and platform enablement.
• Analyse business and technology processes, document current-state pain points, map hand-offs and decision points, and help identify opportunities for simplification, standardisation, automation and improved customer or employee experience.
• Create and maintain management information, dashboards and presentation materials using Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI, with clear commentary on progress, blockers, emerging trends and outcome measures.
• Conduct research and comparative analysis on digital transformation, AI, data, operating models, service ownership, technology architecture and banking-industry practices, and translate findings into concise recommendations.
• Support stakeholder workshops, interviews and working sessions by preparing agendas and pre-reads, capturing decisions and actions, following up with owners, and maintaining the Transformation Office knowledge repository.
• Complete a defined internship project with measurable business outcomes, provide periodic progress updates and reflections, and present the final findings and recommendations to MUFG and the academic advisor.
Job Requirements
• Undergraduate student, preferably in Year 2 or Year 3, pursuing Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics, Management or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative information and convert it into clear insights and recommendations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Power BI, data visualisation, process mapping, SQL, Python, automation or generative AI tools is advantageous.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence working across business, technology, architecture, risk and transformation stakeholders.
• Interest in digital transformation, business transformation, AI, data, technology strategy, operating models, customer journeys or financial services.
• Ability to manage tasks independently, maintain accurate records, meet deadlines and work effectively in a cross-functional team with appropriate guidance.
• High standards of integrity, confidentiality and professional conduct, with willingness to follow MUFG information-security, data-access, risk-management and responsible-AI requirements.
Expected Internship Outcomes
• Deliver a well-structured transformation artefact or analytical deliverable thar address an agreed business challenge or opportunity within MUFG
• Enhance visibility of transformation workstream milestones, dependencies, actions and outcomes through accurate portfolio records and management reporting
• Develop practical recommendations supported by data, research, stakeholder engagement and consideration of business, risk and technology factors
• Present project findings, insights and recommendations through a final presentation and handover pack, including methodology, key analyses, data sources and proposed next steps.
