About the Job
We are looking for a Backend Engineer for our Engineering team!
As a Backend Engineer you will join our team, and you will contribute to the design, development, and evolution of our IoT platform.
You will focus on backend services, APIs, data processing, integrations, and cloud-native architecture. The ideal candidate has strong backend engineering experience, solid software design skills, and the ability to work independently in a distributed environment.
Fluency in English is essential, as the role requires regular collaboration with international stakeholders, engineering teams, product owners, and external partners.
Key responsibilities
As a Backend Engineer, you will:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services for a cloud-based IoT platform
- Build reliable, scalable, and secure APIs used by Web applications, mobile applications, devices, and external systems
- Contribute to the architecture of backend components, microservices, data flows, and integrations
- Work on features related to device management, telemetry ingestion, user management, notifications, reporting, firmware updates, and system integrations
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, DevOps engineers, architects, QA, and product stakeholders
- Ensure backend services are observable, maintainable, and ready for production use
- Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code
- Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices
- Contribute to technical decisions around scalability, performance, security, and maintainability

Experience and skills
The successful candidate should have:
- Strong professional experience as a Backend Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role
- Solid experience designing and implementing backend services and REST APIs
- Good understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native architectures
- Experience with relational and/or time-series databases
- Good knowledge of authentication, authorization, API security, and secure coding practices
- Experience writing automated tests and working with CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills and ownership mindset
- Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
The following skills are considered a plus, but are not mandatory:
- Experience with Python
- Experience with Microsoft Azure
- Experience with Azure services such as Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Container Registry, Azure Key Vault, Azure Blob Storage, or Azure Pipelines
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, or GitOps tools

Recruitment process

- HR interview

- Software Director interview
Final interview focused on seniority, organizational fit, leadership attitude, and alignment with engineering expectations
