Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day EHS activities and ensure compliance with established safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Conduct safety induction, refresher training, toolbox talks, and awareness programmers for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Monitor workplace activities and ensure compliance with PPE requirements, safe work practices, and permit-to-work procedures.
- Manage contractor safety, including induction, document verification, work-area inspection, and compliance monitoring.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, workplace audits, and hazard-identification exercises across operational areas.
- Support Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment activities and ensure appropriate risk-control measures are implemented.
- Coordinate safety committee meetings, prepare meeting records, and follow up on agreed action points.
- Record and investigate incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to identify root causes.
- Ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions arising from audits, incidents, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as hot work, work at height, confined-space entry, lifting operations, and electrical maintenance.
- Inspect fire and safety equipment and coordinate periodic testing, preventive maintenance, and readiness checks.
- Support emergency preparedness activities, including mock drills, evacuation exercises, and emergency-response training.
- Maintain EHS documentation, inspection records, training records, incident reports, safety permits, and compliance trackers.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Administration, Security, and other departments on safety-related matters.
- Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits and ensure EHS documents and systems remain audit-ready.
- Promote proactive reporting of safety observations, near misses, and workplace hazards.
- Drive safety campaigns, behavioural safety programmes, and employee-engagement initiatives.
- Track EHS performance indicators and support continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employees to take ownership of workplace safety.
