Role Objective / Major Purpose of the Job
To provide scientific and medical leadership for the brand portfolio by driving medico-marketing initiatives across new launches and established brands. The role builds strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), generates credible scientific content and Real World Evidence (RWE), supports the Strategy and Marketing teams with evidence-based inputs, and works with cross-functional teams (PVG, Legal, NPD and Regulatory) to ensure all scientific communication is accurate, compliant and impactful.
Principal Tasks & Responsibilities
1. Medico Marketing Scope (Brand Support)
Provide brand positioning and strategic scientific inputs for new launches during the pre-launch phase, and share these inputs with the Marketing team.
Plan and conduct CMEs and webinars (through Dr Connect) for new and established brands.
Run nursing education programmes and patient awareness initiatives for established brands.
Prepare scientific presentations for symposia, coordinate faculty and conduct scientific events.
Conduct Field Level Personnel (FLP) and other training sessions for internal customers to build product and disease knowledge.
Resolve medical and scientific queries from the field force and the Marketing team in a timely manner.
2. Dr Connect for Division Support
Identify, engage and maintain relationships with KOLs.
Coordinate faculty for symposia and brief moderators before each session.
Maintain faculty connect during company and division events.
3. Connect for Scientific Advisory
Prepare and present Reason-to-Believe (ROL) presentations for innovator brands.
Participate in brand communication discussions to ensure scientific accuracy and alignment with approved claims.
4. Strategy Team Support
Carry out portfolio landscaping exercises.
Support portfolio optimisation of established brands through scientific and market analysis.
Develop scientific rationales for new drug pipelines.
5. RWE Studies
Identify study objectives in line with brand and business needs.
Develop protocols and Case Report Forms (CRFs).
Support data analysis and publication of study outcomes.
6. Manuscripts and Scientific Communication
Publish RWE data and case series in peer-reviewed journals.
Prepare newsletters, journal updates and journal Tables of Contents (ToCs) for internal and external stakeholders.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with Pharmacovigilance (PVG) on SmPC-related inputs.
Provide medical support to the Legal team for defence matters.
Support NPD and Regulatory teams with medical and scientific inputs.
Key Skills & Competencies
Functional / Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of clinical medicine, pharmacology and therapeutic areas relevant to the portfolio.
Ability to read, interpret and critically appraise clinical literature.
Medical and scientific writing, including manuscripts, newsletters and case series.
Understanding of RWE study design, protocol and CRF development, and basic biostatistics.
Knowledge of pharma marketing, product positioning and the new product launch process.
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements, including promotional code of conduct, SmPC and PV.
Portfolio analysis and market landscaping skills.
Strong presentation and training skills.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
