About this role
Tesla's Material Planning team at Giga Berlin is looking for a Supplier Chargeback Analyst who can run the process and improve it. You will manage supplier chargebacks from creation through closing, keep claims accurate enough to hold up under review, and work across Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance to reach resolution.
This role is built around outcomes. You will own the metrics, lead cross-functional work, and raise the standard for how chargebacks are created, challenged, and closed.
- Create, submit, and close quality-related supplier chargebacks, prioritizing accuracy so claims stand up to supplier review
- Manage return-to-vendor for non-conforming material and ensure inventory is cleared as soon as scrap or return is complete
- Resolve supplier issues and contested claims with clear, well-supported analysis
- Lead cross-functional projects that improve chargeback performance, working with Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Accounts Payable
- Propose and implement standard processes, escalation paths, and documentation - and stay accountable for adoption
- Analyse chargeback and inventory data to identify trends, reduce rework, and support automation
- Act as a knowledgeable user of chargeback systems: guide internal teams and suppliers, surface issues, and follow enhancements through to delivery
- Build working relationships across the chargeback lifecycle, from quality issues on the line to financial settlement
Metrics
- Chargebacks completed
- Data accuracy, with a lower rate of supplier contests and rejections
- Prompt clearance of return-to-vendor inventory after scrap or return
- Process improvements and documentation delivered on agreed timelines
- Impact of the cross-functional projects you lead
- Stakeholder feedback on ownership, collaboration, and how well you share process and system knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics or equivalent experience in supply chain operations
- 2+ years in supply chain, quality operations, or chargeback / claims management, including work that influenced outcomes beyond day-to-day execution
- Experience with data analytics tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, Ziplabs) and ERP systems.
- Working knowledge of operational processes and supplier-facing systems
- Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to prioritize, decide, and improve
- Clear communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders at different levels
- Ownership, structure, and composure in a high-volume, fast-moving environment
- A bias to improve the system rather than only work around it
- Candidates are expected to uphold and actively promote sustainability principles in their daily work, operating in line with Tesla Global Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) Policy and EMAS requirements, fostering a culture of continuous environmental improvement.
