About this role

Do you automate workflows before anyone asks you to? Is an AI coding agent already your default way of working, with real tools wired into it, not a chat window you paste into? Do you understand what a database actually is: tables, joins, a transaction, a row count, and why you check it before you commit?

How does a key role in a rapidly growing Finnish success story sound? At Kultakiertue / Gold Adam, we are the market leader and pioneer in the purchasing and evaluation of precious metals. We operate throughout the Nordics, Europe and the USA, and we keep expanding into new markets. More than 200 professionals work within our unique service concept, and our growth is only accelerating.

We're looking for a Data & AI Automation Specialist , a data hacker, to work alongside our CTO and run the AI agents that handle our day-to-day operations: agents that read production data, propose changes, write back to the people affected, and act only inside clear rules. Your job is to help to operate agents and automation workflows, extend, improve and bring the same pattern to the next function that needs it.

This is not a traditional engineering role. It sits across four teams and belongs to none of them: part business function (you sit with the teams and learn how the work actually gets done), part support and IT (you see what people keep asking for and spot what should never be manual), part development (you build the automation and work with dev and data teams). Few people have done all four; we expect you to be strong in one or two and curious about the rest.

We are deliberately open on seniority. You need to have used AI tools aggressively, understand how data and databases work, and have the discipline not to break things. If you are early in your career and have already automated more than most seniors, this is for you: you would start in route planning and could make it your home. If you are senior, you would join a small task force with the CTO that moves from function to function (routes, payments, controlling, bookings, compliance reporting, country launches) and automates whatever is slowest and most manual.

What you bring

- Aggressive, daily use of AI tools. Cursor, Claude Code or similar is how you work, not something you tried once. You have written rules, skills or prompts that made an agent reliable, and you have wired up MCP servers or APIs to give it hands. You know which model is good at what and when a cheaper one will do, and you can tell when a task needs one agent with a good runbook, a chain of steps with checks between them, or a human in the loop.

- You understand how databases work. SQL with joins and aggregates, what a transaction and a rollback are, why a row count matters, how a schema fits together. You can read a 40-table schema you did not design and find what you need or what is missing.

- Enough scripting (JavaScript/TypeScript or Python) to glue APIs together and to read what the AI wrote and know if it is wrong.

- An operations brain: you care whether the field agent has a usable day or the customer gets paid on time, not just whether the script ran. You own results not just tooling.

- If you are senior: you have done this across more than one function and can walk into a team you don't know, find the manual loop, and automate it without breaking what they rely on

- Discipline with production data and personal data: dry run first, check the counts, stop and ask before writing

- Good communication and people skills: you will walk into teams and transform how they work, which takes patience and tact. You report directly to the CTO and have his backing when you do, but you are the one in the room.

- Fluent English; Finnish or another European language is a plus

Not required: a degree, a particular job title, or years of experience. Show us an agent or automation you built that other people now depend on, and the rule that stopped it from doing something stupid.

What we offer

- A truly agile, tight team environment where your work ships to production the week you do it

- Direct access to real operational data across seven countries and the mandate to change how the business runs on it

- Your choice of models and tools, paid for; we are not going to ration your tokens

- A direct line to the CTO, who will work with you daily, and a shared mission: turn full company into an agent-run company, one function at a time. No layers in between.

- Hybrid role requiring presence at our Käpylä office in Helsinki at minimum few days a week

- Competitive salary and company bonus scheme

- Real growth: this role is the seed of our AI operations function, and the person who builds it will lead critical parts of our teams.
