About the role
The Accounting Coordinator oversees and coordinates general ledger/fixed asset accounting activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. This role acts as a key liaison between accounting teams and other departments, supporting process improvements and compliance with internal controls. The position requires strong organizational skills, accounting knowledge and a proactive approach to managing complex accounting operations.
Please note that the position is part time (30 h / week)!

You will be responsible for
- Coordinating daily operations related to general ledger/fixed asset accounting.
- Reviewing journal entries and reconciliations prepared by accounting staff.
- Entering financial data and transactions into the ledger.
- Leading the maintenance and accuracy of the general ledger/fixed asset register.
- Coordinating period-end and year-end closing activities.
- Using bookkeeping systems (Oracle, HFM, Comstar) and entering information into company files or databases, ensuring that all financial records are complete and accurate both for group ledgers and for local books.
- Balance sheet reconciliation responsibility (explanation of movements, issues etc.).
- Reviewing financial documents for accuracy and reconciling accounts.
- Ensuring financial records comply with regulatory standards (IFRS and local standards.)
- Implementing and maintaining internal controls over financial transactions.
- Supporting internal and external audits by organizing documentation and responses.
- Collaborating with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with co-departments across Tesco and working closely with colleagues in TBS India and TBS Hungary.
- Participating in system upgrades and testing related to accounting functions.
- Coordinating with tax and compliance teams for reporting obligations.
- Managing documentation for accounting procedures and workflows.
In GL area:
- Preparation and support of statutory annual reports, and various other reports including statistical reporting for National banks
In FA area:
- Record fixed asset acquisitions and disposals in the accounting System
- Responsible to identify the proper accounting treatment (capital or opex) for projects and property related deals
- Overview depreciation and amortization rates and methods as per Group policy and calculate depreciation for all fixed assets
You will need
- University education
- Min. 2-3 years of relevant working experience
- Upper-intermediate English language knowledge
- MS office
- Experience in coordinating accounting operations and supporting audits is preferred
- Strong knowledge of general ledger / fixed asset accounting
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems
